Flowers have some thin hairs, has something gone wrong? See picture.

Hi Growers,

I had to bring my outdoor plant inside due to 4 rainy cold days. I put the plant next to the window and in the closed bathroom at night. The house had RH 50 to mid 60's. The last night I put the plant in a tent at it sat at 68 degrees and RH = 60. The sun came out today, so I put the plant outside.

I noticed what looks like hairs on the flower. Not many. The hairs are probably the size of a spider web. I have attached a picture of the hairs. On the lower left side of the picture you can see an example. There are more spots on the plant. Does anyone know what this is? Any recommendations on what to do with it?

Strange.
It looks like the plant has been through some non-beneficial stressors.
The trichome heads appear smaller than normal too.
Perhaps infestation causing lack of flowering energy,
Or hormone deficits due to genetic predisposition, as it looks like a lack of triacontanol.
A product such as Massive or Terpinator could be beneficial if you still have a few weeks to go.

Thanks DR. The plants have been outside plants grown organically. I have only top dressed the plant a couple times. I have been bringing the plant in at night to aovid the cold. The last spell of cold wet weather was really tough, and they spent a lot of time inside looking out a window.

Do you think misting them with Hydrogen Proxide/Water would be beneficial to kill or disrupt what seems to be growing on them?

If you can zoom in on the flower you will see the stringy stuff on it :(

That is looking problematic.
The best solution to this is Copper Sulphate Pentahydrate spray, a fungicide safe for use on flowers and easy to obtain.
Hydrogen peroxide may help if used at the correct dilution rate, but spray some lower less important flowers as a 24hr test before doing the whole plant if you choose to go this route.
Remember; when ever you add spray you also add humidity.
Kepping molds away is always a struggle this time of year.
Could also be puppy fur or spider webs if you're outside :p
Keep your eyes on your leaves for spider mites too!
Optic foliar Portal/Transport can potentially deter insects in flower.

Can I apply the Copper Pentahydrate spray and the Optic Foliar Portal/Transport directly on the flowers without any concerns about ingesting the flowers after drying/curing them?

When I bring the plants in to dry, do I need to worry about infesting the drying tent with undesirable fungi and bugs?

Do you think it's worth trying to save the plant or are the risks not worth it?

I will take a close look tomorrow. Do spider mites make the type of web's that are shown on the flower? Maybe what is pictured is fungus or spider webs.

Yes they make web - Should be Plenty info online (google) -there isnt anything you can spray on the mature bud without having other issues, Ive heard of water washing them off right before harvest, Iknow guys that have vacuumed them off too, both methods they just harvested business as usual, Im sure Ive smoked plenty of mites/bugs in 35 years, Ive found grasshopper bodies etc. If brought indoors you'll run the risk of contaminating indoor crops - it starts out with a few threads and then they'll make a fort!

Oh man Choppr you are right! I took one of the yellow leaves off an looked at it with a Jewlers loop. I found some critters moving around. The plant is about one week from harvest.

What should I do next?

Can I dry the infested plant in my drying tent with other plants? I am worried about infesting the other drying plants. Not sure the mites would infest drying plants.

I plan on starting a new indoor grow early next week (in a differnt tent than my drying tent). Is there anything I should do to help prevent the mites from getting into my indoor grow tent? The infested plant sat in my indoor grow tent about 24 hours :( I don't mind the loss of one plant, but I don't want to carry the problem forward.

Ahh, maybe I will cut and dry the infested plant in my garage without keeping control of temp and RH and use the flowers to make canna oil. I think you can fudge the drying and curing if you are going to make canna oil out of the flowers.

Hate to be right Man, but it happens! DO NOT bring her indoors - It could turn into a never-ending problem - Fucken Bitch stays in Quarantine! Try the Vacuum method before harvest lol, In the Old Days we cured Outside in a shed/garage/barn/old vans/campers/camping tents whatever we could find. They are harmless once dried. I havent looked online maybe there are new tricks? It shouldnt affect other drying plants, but again I would not bring her inside. good luck farmer

Kind of looks like either webs or pet hair

There is a good bit of pet hair, yellow lab. But these strands are really thin, like spider web size. I can't see the webs on the plant until I look at the flowers with a loop. I also can't see the bugs on the leaves without a loop. The leaves don't have typical spider mite damage. I suspect the infestation is just beginning. I hope didn't infest the inside of my house.

My plants were scheduled to be done early next week and I am seeing some brown trichomes. So far there isn't any webs just a few stands here and there. I hope the plant survives until I cut it. I will probably use a vacuum or dunk the plants in a water/lemon juice/hydrogen peroxide mix to clean it before drying. I will probably dry the plants in the garage and forgo curing and proper temp and RH controls. I'll use the flowers to make canna oil. I suspect cheating on the drying and curing will not be noticed in the canna oil.

Maybe I will cut them tomorrow. I feel like I'm at the Black Jack table going all in each day I keep letting the plant grow.
