Your plants are not starving during a regular flush. They have nutes stored they are consuming. JK

The premise of flushing during the last week is that it’s supposed to get the plant to use up its own internal supply of nutrients as it doesn’t need any more for the final week of bud maturation. But this doesn’t stack up in my books.

I dump once a week. When I ran coco I’d flush once a week for a couple of hours during their night cycle. I advocate for this because you get nutrient imbalances that a cf meter can’t read. But this is different to flushing for a week at the end of harvest.

do you think flushing 1 x every week with coco is a bit ocd?

Why would you? Just do perlite or beads instead.

Not a good idea, you’d get bugs build up recircing coco, be a total mess trying to keep it clean.

Added CO2, not what's present already in the atmosphere.

Interesting thread...

I agree with others that the cure plays a huge role in flavor and smoothness.

I run DWC and used to flushed years ago, but I gave up on flushing when I personally could tell the difference.

If you have a high ratio of perlite in your coco you can increase run off and not worry about water logging and then not have to worry about flushing too often.

Yeah but then do you recollect the runoff and reuse it? Otherwise that an awful waste of nutrients?

I like to question everything. Not going to stop flushing unless I see some really good reason. To me a flush is ph'd ro for atleast 10 days, enough so you get a little runoff. I check the drainoff ppm's. And like to see the leaves fade some. Really not sure what to think about this less is more in nutrients theory, given it a go for a couple runs now. I cut back the calcium and the nitrogen early on, pump up the p and k and s comes along with that.
