I can't wait until the 3rd printer arrives, hopefully this week. I have so many things to print and this is a slow process. But very cool that you can think of something and just build it. Micro Manufacturing is so cool to me.

I've got this one waiting in the wings. These are needed to block the 8" holes I have in the tops of my 13 Gal square buckets. The new netpots are much smaller.

And nobody has bucket lids. I can buy all the buckets I want. WTF?

Hey aqua while I got you

Trying to come up with a design here

The disk I am printing 2 posts up will go in this hole and then the small netpots in that disk.

What would be a good way to use that inflow to mist the undersides of the netpot? Inflow rate is adjustable and does have some head. One 800gph per pot. I downsized everything but the pumps and I got spares on the shelf lol.

So fog will be coming in through there? Or water? If water just top feed as needed if fog it will look after itself. It could be automated if you like with a 1/4” line off the infeed providing there is enough pressure

Ideally it would be something that keeps the coco moist in this RDWC system. No fog. But a healthy water flow that could be made to do work. Something I could take off once the roots hit the water.

I've also got all these aeroponic parts that I have been salivating over. I got time to get something going here if you want. No plants in here for over a week, probably 2.

Could put a 1/4 barb on both sides of that collar and just use a cap with a barb and dial the flow rate down to a trickle… i cant say for sure but i feel like a const trickle would be absolutely fine. Like a mini recirculation system. Or you could incorporate a cheap 1/4 solenoid to top water at whatever frequency you like until the roots are ready

Now what if you had a lid and a tube with small holes drilled into it that rises vertically? Or a couple of them… Not sure if you can test this. I can explain firther if it doesn’t make sense

Or possibly even just a tube open ended at the top… over each disc with a slot in the bottom to allow water to flow into the disc

So I am working on this issue with my bucket lids as well and I had an idea. Please tell me what you think.

I can buy some of this stuff-

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) Plastic Sheet 1/8" x 12" x 24" Black Color | eBay

HDPE has good insulation properties and is easy to weld. HDPE is a cost effective material for both indoor and outdoor applications. High density polyethylene is harder than low density polyethylene and has higher tensile strength, and better compressive strength.
www.ebay.com

That sheet is enough to do two lids, cut it down to fit over the 8" hole and cover that whole area, then screw it down, but before doing all that, I would test fit it, and then cut the 4" hole for the smaller net pots that I am going to order, then fasten it to the lid. Other ideas I have without any expenses is I have some sheet construction aluminum, baked finish covered with a thin pvc coating on one side. I could cut a piece of that the size I need and make the 4" hole and then fasten that to the lid the same way with the pvc side down. Not sure if the aluminum would react in a bad way but with the finish side down it should minimize that if there is any chance of a undesirable chemical reaction.

I love your printed rings but I am trying to figure out a way to do this myself so that I do not inconvenience you Moe, I know you are a very busy man! Feedback appreciated.

So at 1 hour later, water temp is 101F. That heat energy needs someplace to go that is not in the res.

This is bad for my design. Gotta get this under control.

WOW what timing.

I have started something similar for my cloning project using a fogger, however I will not be injecting pure O2 in to mine. Humidity will be controlled with the fogger hooked up to this: InkBird Humidity Level Controller , as much as I love to tinker with IoT devices I just found this controller more convenient and cheaper, everything will be tracked with my IoT devices.

Will you be using a humidity dome, or are you placing the fogger in a tent? I don't have a spare tent so I am thinking of placing a dome on mine, but I am worried about possible issues. Should I be best of placing it in a small tent?

I am still waiting for parts to arrive.

Thanks.

I'm not sure who to reply to, thx for all that helped me think about it. @N1ghtL1ght

I believe I have this problem licked via software actually. I'll show you the math if anyone is interested, but after some testing, I am good with the fog being on much much less than I am currently running it. The fogger I am using pushes out 1900mL/H. Once the plants are good and wet, I should be able to get away with 10% of that ongoing to keep it moist. In conjunction with the waterproof 120mm fan running as slow as it will go, well, I think I got this heat issue resolved permanently. Just don't put the heat energy in to start with.

Everybody is very happy.

I'm leaning these heavily blue. This is a very tall plant in nature. Outdoors, 15 feet is no problem. I am trying to train them to stay short with a heavy dose of blue spectrum. These lights are the ones I use for microgreens. Did a bunch of testing on lighting meant specifically for seedlings - which is what microgreens are - this was the best light. It is currently at 50% on 24H.

If you scroll back a bit you will see the whole setup. The whole grow space is a cloner.

Are you saying you are making an ultrasonic humidifier, or you are growing in fogponics? What I am doing is using a humidifier in a tent and a fogger in the root zone - 2 different systems.

If you are building a humidifier, these work great but feed them RO or everything will be covered in white powder.

Flashback 3 years ago today. That was a 4 pound harvest. I need to see an improvement over that to call this a win.

EDIT hehe, the only stalk you can see is the runt in the front right. The other ones required going to the garage for the big loppers.
