Need some advice, looking for a cheap light to put my seedling under, I've got a propagation box, with a T5 strip light in but it's footprint is so slim if I have 2 rows of plugs the seedlings lean into the middle to catch the light. It has a sunblaster reflector on but still not good enough. I've got a cheap Chinese led that I could maybe hang above the box for extra but that's full spectrum and no idea of actual light out put due to the cheapo nature of it. I've been looking at non gardening use bulbs but could do with a nudge in the right direction. Light is something I'm only just starting to get into learning about fully

Appreciate any input

Is what I would look at. Idk your footprint. The dimmer dial is quite smooth.

I'd need another tent to use something this size, it's only really to grow them up till roots show, once they're that big they're into a new home,. I'm. Thinking more along the lines of some led strips or a few cfl bulbs set into a muffin tin. My prop box is maybe 18 inches long by 12 wide and 18 tall.
I could go for an envoribulb cfl but again I'd need another small tent to run that. Need something small that I can hang inside my prop box. I may bite the bullet and go for a small tent

Ah, so really small. I would just use hardware store leds then tbh. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Feit-El...row-Light-Fixture-GLP24ADJS-32W-LED/306744759

Expensive for what it is but I'm sure it can be found much cheaper.

What's the easiest way to check the light output of my led I already own.

Could just buy a tent and put this in if its good enough

No idea in measuring light from blurples. Lux meters are out due to spectrum. So idk.

With the angle on that though, i would expect the footprint to be right for your prop box.

It's not the coolest running thing in the world, I think it would be too close in my box. Think I'm gonna convert a cupboard for it so I can get a bit more height..

You thought about just general indoor lighting LEDs? They're full spectrum just like a lot of the grow lights and they definitely perform.

Grab a few of these

And a fixture or two
https://www.amazon.com/Design-House-500892-Vanity-Polished/dp/B000UOFNVM/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?

Or something like this
https://www.amazon.com/8T8-Splitter-Standard-Converter-Commercial/dp/B06ZZ6RY4H/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?

Pop off the globes, put a plug on the fixture if need be.

End up with something like this

Ended up with these

Grab some bulbs to go with the splitter, Then I think im going to take the old T5 out of the prop box and set it up in an old wardrobe with the splitter above it for my seedlings, Then move them to the new veg tent under the nice new bigger T5.
This mean My old veg tent can now become a new veg/flowering tent to run some single strains in to play about with and a nice space to keep some bonsai mothers in,, Happy days.

Would you recommend all the same bulb or maybe stick a couple of warm bulbs or nutural in with the cool white? obviously im only really wanting to use it for seedlings, then once theyre ready for transplanting ill be moving onto the tent with the T5 in(which im going to upgrade to LED replacements bulbs in the future)
