Was up the hill above my house tonight glassing for bear on the coast across the valley and I saw 3 choppers running for fuel and go back to the fire, and the ridge had high winds, so those boys have their work cut out for them. ...
Fire in the sky......

That's the sun in the middle of the smoke.
We'll just half to see how it goes...

🎯

There always has to be that fool who starts a fire in the forest when things are hot and dry 🤬
That's always the big suck about Summer. Fires and hurricanes. And the crazy thing is the part of the country that could use the hurricane to stamp out a fire never gets it. Ya look at a map of fires and it's like the whole western US is a blaze meanwhile there's a storm on the east coast that could probably put out a lot of 'em 🤔. Looks like SoCal has another bitch of a blaze going now too.
Beautiful pic brother, stay safe!

Weather here has been quite nice. Low to mid 90s and cools off to around 85 at night with a cool breeze. Last night was beautiful as my wife and I had our first date night out in months, going to a drive in movie. It was our third try at going to a drive in...First two times were cancelled on us due to a hurricane and the local tiny drive in had a fire themselves. It felt like I'd never experience a drive in so I started to plan building my own while searching for more drive ins no matter how far away they were.
I ended up finding one about 45 miles away and am really happy those first two were cancelled because the one furthest away was exactly the thing I wanted to experience. The movie was the original Jurassic Park but it was really more about the venue and experience. Very retro 50s with old school neon sign lit up to see from miles around in the darkness of Central Texas....nostalgic concession stand, huge parking lot, lots of cars with freindly people keeping the social distance thing going, and the biggest movie screen I've ever seen.
I'm obsessed with drive ins now and will build my own retro style one car drive in theater in my driveway. More on that later next week when my speakers and projector arrive 🤖

In the meantime I got home around 2am and figured why not go take some pics of weed!🤑

I'm still trying to work out the picture lighting thing and am getting close. Plants are swelling nice, gonna be a lot of beer bottle size colas and golf ball size nuggetry at harvest.
Lots of funk coming from these ladies ranging from dead animal, dirty diapers, fruit salads, pine tar, and spoiled milk. Still a few weeks to go for most and they all seem to be oozing nice loads of grease and oil. I've been giving them moderate doses of Terpenez 1x each week for the past three weeks and it seems to have them swollen with oil. I'll squeeze a leaf and it drips juice and reaching into the canopy feels like fly tape sticks to my arms 🥰

And my latest seed order arrived from GPS. I figure as long as this 'rona thing has me living in a bubble and I have time to spend growing weed I'm gonna grow weed.
Rather than a couple really big crops a year and taking time off between grows I'm thinking 4-5 small crops back to back to back kinda thing. Like a perpetual mono crop plan growing small batches of hand crafted fine cannabis 😎
One thing I really like about this smaller garden is the space around the plants to work and inspect. I'm usually blocked out by an impenetrable jungle around this time of a grow🙃
Yields may not be taking such a bad hit either...There's a lot of quality in this crop of 8 and when I have 12-13 plants in here some quality suffers due to over crowding. So what good is a high yield if some of it is great and some of it just ok? I'll take less yield for high quality in the entire crop any day!🤗

I dont usually grow feminized strains either but what the hell ya know...these are weird times and I'm doing a lot of weird things I dont normally do and if there was ever a fem cut to grow Purple Crash seems like a helluva cut to get into. 🤪
So as soon as this crop is dry these beans are getting dropped 😇

I hope everybody is having a great weekend and staying safe out there! Keep it lit Farmers!! ✌

Happy anniversary Brother!!!👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨
Yep...happy wife = happy life!
We just crossed the 26 year mark in July and you're so right...time does fly!!🛩
We were just sayin' it does'nt feel like 26...maybe 10-15 but not 26!🙃
Tritip is looking real good buddy! That's usually a west coast cut of meat but it's been showing up more and more around here. I almost bought a pair at Costco for trying out reverse searing. I did a reverse sear on some ribeyes a few weeks ago and it was good but I think it works better on thicker cuts like tri tips and steaks at least 2" thick.🔥🥩
BTW thank you kindly for the photo contest nomination!!!🤘

Worked a little more on my photo lighting a couple nights ago. I may end up finally getting a real camera and try lights out pics with flash. The way my garden looks in real life and they way my ipad takes pics just leaves a lot lost in translation. I think these look ok but I took about 30 pics to get these few🤖

My fancy digital climate controller keeps getting it's fuse popped by the AC which is weird since it's supposed to handle 1500 watts and the AC is only 500 watts. So I called in the relief pitcher, an analog controller with no fuse. Problem solved!😎
Digital gear can be cool and neat sometimes but reliability is better 🤓

Yes Sir that is indeed a Masterbuilt!
It's the 40" with the glass door and bluetooth but the BT has never worked and the glass has so much creosote on it there's no way anybody can see thru it. Oh and the light never shuts off if it's plugged in but the temp is spot on accurate and it smokes like train so it works great where it really needs to work great 😋

Thanks buddy, and happy belated anniversary to you two as well!, and no problem on the nomination....🤙"hook-em"

It's the one that's been discontinued 😋
I see my autopilot on ebay from time to time and even bought a used second one for $20 last year.
The new and improved monitor looks better and has more features though

Mine is not a controller, just a monitor. I bought it a long time ago to see what kind of ambient CO2 I had going and what inside my home raises co2 gas levels. I paid maybe $100 when it first came out but it's saved me so much by not needing to buy a gassing system. I once thought I might need to have a tank and regulator system but there's no need.
With my exhaust at full power I still get ambient levels around 700ppm. Low exhaust power I get 900-1000ppm and if my oven or gas fireplace is on I get upwards of 2000ppm.
Between owning gas appliances and my wife, myself, two dogs and two cats in a 1700sqft single story home we all kick out plenty of co2 for the ganja to stay happy and grow big and fast.

There's a few different CO2/Temp/RH monitors out there and I'm pretty sure they all use the same sniffer technology or at least they did when I was shopping for one. So it's just a matter of finding one within budget. There's some kinda funky jobs for around $60 but in the $100-$150 range you can find one that has all the bells and whistles like PC interface and memory features.

From my experience I highly recommend getting a monitor before making the full investment into a gassing system. If gas levels are good enough as is it makes it a lot easier to run air control without regard for exhausting free CO2 but if you have to buy the gas then ya gotta do the sealed room thing and that shit is such a PITA 🙃

Oh ya and I wanted to tell you. My buddies got a 60 plant operation and he recently switch to a rail system for his lights. He’s got 4 rails over 4 trays of 20. He was able to eliminate a light per row bringing his electrical bill down about a grand. Those rail systems are pretty efficient. As the lights move I’m in AWE of how the plants raise and lower their leafs. They have personalities of their own. Alright done with the ramble. Happy grows.

I simply went lighter on the salt due to the fact I'm now not a heavy salt man + I'm letting the rub sit down for approximately 20 hours and dont want that salt pulling moisture from the roast. You can check here the latest cheap electric smoker reviews.

Yeah light movers really help me out a lot. I think my space would call for about 2000 watts of HPS but with the mover and LED I cut that down to only 1200 watts. And the really cool thing about using one with LED is those PPFD charts become obsolete with moving light, expanding footprints and coverage with the ability of create sweet spots of light over every plant in the garden rather than just the ones centered under the light 🤓

Got an update to share with the Farm!
Been a bit crazy last few weeks. Ya know it's August when football camps are going, it's so hot outside ya see Satan with a glass of iced water, and a new Hard Knocks is on HBO!
Personally I've been grinding at my work at a FB camp 6 days a week but am still able to make a little time for some fun and food!

First some tunes by Uncle Bob

And a video of the garden nearing harvest!🤑

My latest interest is making a drive in movie theater in my drive way and it's been a huge hit! My wife has really enjoyed our dates in the drive way and it's funny to see neighbors come by checking it out and giving me all sorts of compliments. I do have one neighbor who's a Karen type and tried to get all pissy about it but other neighbors embarrassed her and told her to leave me alone when she tried to get them to gang up on me and complain to cops. It's not even loud and our movies are rather tame, not like we watch porn out there. She's just a hater Karen type who does'nt know how to have fun unless she's imposing her shit on neighbors

Went all retro with the sound system but I can also plug into my car's sound system or a boombox I have in the backseat🤖

IMG 2185

Projector is a little Dr.J and an Amazon Fire Stick so I stream content thru a wifi extender in my drive way for 1080p quality picture!🤩

Looks like the Dank Sinatras are just about ready and they're starting to purple up. The two Twenty20 cuts are close as well and then Tombstone and Bandit Breath will be last to chop in a few weeks.
Everything is heavy and needing support. Great density too, lots of resin, grease, and stinky aromas so I'm pretty happy so far!
I've cut off fresh air since it's coming in at over 100 degrees lately. AC, exhaust, and air movers are all at max power 24/7 to make sure no rot sets into these flowers. Everything seems well and happy, now it's just a matter of crossing that finish line! 🏁

Take care Farmers! Stay cool, stay safe, and keep it lit! ✌
