I look back and today I laugh at some of my first attempts. I was green and had no idea what I was getting into attempting to grow outdoors. I saw this picture in my memories today. It's the first year of my greenhouse and the date is Aug 8th 2020.

This is a 20ft polycarbonate hoop house and it was like this front to back. I planted them in the ground in June. I had no idea ....

Yeah, it’s fun to look back! Some green, wet behind the ears, bullshit went on back then! It’s always good for a laugh! I think I still have PTSD from some of the lickings she put on me! or more likely I put on myself! It’s all good!

I hope he can too. First frost tends not to be until sometime in November helps. How well he manages during the fall when weather is hitting the dew point is another story. Mother nature has humbled a lot of growers in the last few weeks of an outdoor run.

is a full moon not considered light?

full moon is blue light, very low ppfd and also receptor that trigger flowering are sensitive to red light not blue ...

may be because you are a tad bit studborn and not really willing to learn the basics and advanced stuff about plant physiology peoples try to explain you ... sometime it feel like you didn't even read and really fully understanding the previous answer given ...

Your experiment is paramount to saying "If I try hard enough and drop enough rocks, maybe one will defy gravity and float instead of fall to the ground." This is why you sense people giving off a negative vibe to your posts. They know that cannabis doesn't work they way you want it to and your experiment will end in disappointment.

photoperiod plants, including most cannabis strains, transition to flowering when sunlight hours start decreasing. This is because they are sensitive to changes in the ratio of daylight to darkness and use it as a cue to shift from vegetative growth to flowering for reproduction.

Explanation:
  • Photoperiodism:
This is the process where plants use light as a cue to regulate their growth and development, including flowering.

  • Short-day plants:
Most cannabis strains are short-day plants, meaning they flower when the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer.

  • Natural cues:
In their natural environment, this typically happens after the summer solstice when daylight starts decreasing.

  • this was copy and paste
  • so why am i so wrong?
  • everything i read says this.
  • and yes i know all about autos
when night come a certin hormone starts building up in the plant tissue when its concentration hits a certin point plant starts producing flower. but as soon as light comes it starts lowering.soo you have to have night long enough to have it build up to flower levels.that amount of time is usually 10+ hours of darkness

During the light period, the production and activity of florigen and gibberellins in cannabis plants are influenced by the presence of light:
  1. Florigen:
    • Florigen is produced in response to longer periods of darkness. When the light period is extended, the synthesis of florigen decreases. This means that during the light phase, the signals for flowering are reduced, keeping the plant in the vegetative stage.
  2. Gibberellins:
    • Gibberellins are produced in various parts of the plant and are involved in promoting growth and development. During the light period, gibberellin levels can remain relatively high, supporting processes such as stem elongation and leaf expansion. However, their role in flowering is more complex; while they can promote flowering in some plants, in cannabis, their levels may not be as critical during the light phase.
In summary, during the light period, florigen production decreases, which helps maintain the vegetative state, while gibberellins continue to support growth processes. The transition to flowering is primarily triggered by the extended dark period, which allows florigen to accumulate and signal the plant to flower.

well you still have the possibility to work on a DIY removable cover for your photoperiods outdoor plant, it doesn't take and cost that much if your creative enough ...

i correct this a little:

Ultimately, the most effective method for comprehension and retention varies by individual. Some retain information better through reading, while others prefer listening. Exploring different modalities can help identify the most effective approach for each person.

And if you mainly watched video about flowering mechanisms, and are still confused about it afterward, listening might not be the best approach for you.

well i wanted to remove the last two post this morning, but went past the point you could edit/delete them.

even asked for a remove this evening

and not saying your an idiot. more saying that video format could lead to some misinterpretation due to a few brain mechanism depending the individual.

(for exemple when you read you can read in diagonal going directly to the paragraph you need, you can re-read a line or paragraph you did not understand well, this is less easy with video, also with video your flooded with lot of useless talk and infos, could lead to a disminush in focus going in your own thought while missing the important part, this is less likely to happen when reading)

but anyway thoose post were unecessary, half flamming, half guess, sorry i was a little upset this morning because you asked for help, several people gave you a solution, and you didn't really take it into account.

also the first of my 4 last post isn't quiet worded exacltly correctly, not being a native english speaker i sometime make a few approximation

so well sorry about that

as said your plant your rules, all the best with them.

more like:

from your first posts in the threads it's been obvious your did some research and were confusing a few thing about flowering mechanisms for photoperiods, then it's been requiring some effort reading severals time all your posts to figure out what you were not understanding correclty and reword it for you, sometime several time, so you finnally understood, this is a little depressing making some effort understanding what you misunderstood, and then you totally ignoring it once you get it.

everyone one here want you grow to succeed really sorry for wording it incorrectly and let you though i was thinking you were an idiot

I know, herbal! That was meant more for me, like in keeping my big trap shut for once! I know you mean well! You help a lot of folks out! Sometimes things just spiral out of control! And the harder you try to correct them, the deeper you dig the hole that you have to climb out of! that seemed like where this was going much to my warped sense of amusement! You’ll always be good with me, brother!
