The 2025 season is here, farmers! Trying out a new greenhouse this year. I'll also be testing a few water-only soil recipes. I'm going for smaller plants this summer. Last year was more than I care to deal with really. I'd like to keep yields down to only a pound per plant this time. I'm also going to try a new way of trellising.

Mostly clones this year. I had a couple of seeds end up sprouting after all. I had written them off as duds. So I have everything from seedlings to a couple feet tall. Some are revegging because the clones I got had been on a 24hr light schedule so they started to flower as soon as I got them home. This happened last time I got cuts from them. Might go great, might go horribly wrong. Lol

The line up is.....

Pineapple Express
Lemon Meringue
GG4
Dutch Treat
Hypnotic
Notorious THC

Pics coming soon.....

A lot of cloudy days this month. It has made getting decent photos a challenge but I think I got a few to share. It appears that the only plants that aren't revegging are my seedlings. That plus all the clouds has made growth lag a lot. I wanted a smaller harvest but this year could turn out to be a bust.

Pineapple Express is down to single blades and stretchy/spindly. Not a lot of hope for anything decent from this one, I think.

Lemon Meringue #1 has been topped all around and culling as she grows.

Same story with Lemon Meringue #2

The GG4 is down to single blades but might turn out better than the PE.

The original Dutch Treat clone is filling out pretty well. Still making culling decisions.

The cut from the Dutch Treat clone is finally getting her footing.

A slight reveg isn't unusual after transitioning outside and a slight light schedule change. Even plants from seed. This is the first time I've had clones actively flowering before the final up pot. I think this dispensary just keeps the lights on 24/7. I've never had a plant go past 3 blades. These wil be my first uniblades.

For most of the plants, it's just slowed things down. By the time they are done switching gears it'll be time to switch back. 🙄

This will be my 3rd year growing in this location. I'm getting a feel for the rhythm and learned some things. I think going forward I'm investing in specific genetics and growing from seed. I don't have a lot of free space to maintain 3-4 mammas. I have a few medicinal strains in mind and a seed pack of each will last a few years. I can always go buy something to smoke just for fun anytime.

I like to experiment. Last year it was just one plant. This year, pretty much the whole grow. lol I read things, I wonder, I test. It passes the time. 🥴 And sometimes I end up with some decent weed. 🤣

Hard to believe it's been a month since I posted here. June was really cloudy and July brought very mild temps with frequent cloud cover. Growth has been decent for the most part. The plants from seed are still lagging. All the reveggers are back to normal foliage. Still some trellising to finish up. We are in a moderate drought so hoping molds will not be an issue this year or at least come late. But I'm treating for it preemptively, nonetheless.

I gave a Dutch Treat clone to a couple neighbors. One topped his right away.

The other is attempting a 1 gallon grow with his.

Here is my clone now. (soil #8)

They all started out the same but obviously have grown out differently.

I'd stop buying those clones and start everything from seed. I use a greenhouse and keep the lights at 15/9 so I can flip plants any time by just taking them outside as our longest day is 14hrs 10mins.

Got about the same growth on mine?? All yours look healthy for sure, glad your reveg ones turned around for you. I've been there done that like 2x but they catch up. My photos are shorter than last year this time. Keep us posted.

The only caveat is with the CBD (as OP mentioned “medicals” for future grows). If you grow from seed it’s a crap shoot if the plant will produce CBD, and as a home grower probably don’t want to be testing to check. But if your have have a reputable supplier they’ve tested the mother and (hopefully) you’re going to get an actual CBD producer.

I started with Cherry Wine tested at 12-18% CBD and under 0.30% THC

Bought and started them in Feb 2021 I believe. They're still around and still selling this same strain as of 6 months or so, last time I looked them up for another post somewhere on the farm.

I had a heck of a time getting any seeds to germinate and ended up planting 40 or so and got 4, all fems. I make most of my own seeds and wanted to make several thousand. I allowed 2 to flower and harvested and the other two revegged as the days got longer and I took cuts and here we are.

I still have 3 that are in 1 gal cloth and almost a year old. 4' + tall and have been through hell that I recently moved outside. I needed the space.

You can smoke this all day and not get high but tastes good, like it's name cherry wine. I have mixed it 3-1 with high THC strains for coconut oil extraction and make caps and sauve and I've smoked it. I make my wife CBD caps. THC makes her melt into shit like the couches or chairs, walls🤣 She doesn't like the effects but takes 2 CBD caps a day and never any of my THC concoctions.

Look these people up and you can grow 'em as big as you can get 'em😉

Before CBD seeds became ubiquitous (and the internet got polluted by all the A.I. bullshit) it was fairly common to read that only about 25% of CBD plants would actually produce CBD. When medical marijuana became legal in my state (in 1996) pretty much everyone was buying CBD clones instead of seeds. Granted clones were only $12 and there were many dozens of CBD strains you could purchase (actually a lot more then THC varieties) as the “medical” strains were really important to the new dispensaries businesses. (The whole point of the early medical marijuana movement was to provide medicine, not just selling dope.)

Now days all the commercial banks are selling CBD seeds with the idea that all the phenotypes are going to produce CBD. But just like with regular seeds, some strains are super stable, and seeds will be fine, but other strains will be much more variable, and you might grow a plant with very low levels of CBD.

Perhaps over the years this has changed and most of the CBD seeds are much more stable. 🤷‍♂️ But unless you’re personally testing your plants it’s much harder with CBD to know what you actual have. For the most part you’re not getting ripped and thinking “damn this is some good shit, gets me high” so who cares what the lab numbers say.

Obviously you could get hosed by a 🤡 cloner, but one would hope that a reputable dispensary would be selling CBD clones where the mother(s) was tested to insure that the plant actually produces CBD.

Thanks for that. I'm all about the terpenes. I get the relief I need regardless of CBD content. I know what strains I want and have found sources for them.
