Granddaddy Purple - the purple pheno

So the mice/rats had a field day digging up ALL the seeds

Today I'll be planting another batch but will keep them covered. Perfect time of year to bring out the purple colors of this strain.

Yesterday I put 18 seeds in coco

and covered to protect them

Placed them on the warmth of the hot box. And now we wait

Planted on 12-15

4 of 18. I'll plant another 18 or more tomorrow hoping to start the New Year with a dozen seedlings.

4 of 18 seeds planted 05/23, popped 12-15-24 & up potted into solos 12-25-24

All 4 are excellent examples of this GDP strain and what I've been breeding for the past 6 or so years.

Today I planted 14 seeds produced 08/24 and 18 Purple x Purple (#2 plant and #1 Purple Female x #1 Purple Plant/Male) produced May 2023

So here we go. Hoping for a dozen plus for New Years

Lots of color even in the seedlings.

I plan to keep the A1 female as a mom and flip the rest March 1st. All males will be composted.

My phone is out of memory with some 20k photos and 10k memes so I've been deleting a lot of crap but found more old purple flowers/plants

Okay, 19 of 21 the other 2 will get potted up tomorrow or Saturday. I haven't been this excited growing a strain in a while.

I expect we'll see green, some purple and all purple plants. Literally the leaves. Buds are almost always purple, even on the all green plants. It's pretty cool

I grow in coco coir and only water first 5-7 days, then it's 50% MasterBlend, magnesium sulfate and yes the dreded calcium which is the same mix I use to grow lettuce and herbs in a Kratky setup, pretty week.

Also, I'm using regular LED's, 9 Watt I believe with the defusers removed which give the plants a washed out color in photos

The leafless one I spotted within a couple days from popping, several days from first fertigation so that is genetic. Same with leaves on several of what I call the crap seedlings. All of which got an X marked on their cups and will never be bred.

It's funny I'm not very happy with all the distorted early leaves. I know they'll grow out of it but I've been trying to breed this crap out of this line but it seems to be getting worse. This is S7 so maybe all the inter breeding isn't so good. I need to out cross this line and will start looking for seeds now

the 3 leaf type leaves plumber, i see that a lot on the blueberry types. a outcross sounds good man maybe something with the big juicy, 11 finger leaves would be decent plumber. they look awesome either way man.

is from not fertigating enough. From mid January to this week I've been very busy and the plants were getting only 1 or 2 waterings a day and in coco it needs to be 3+ x's a day with about 20% run-off or you get a build up. They've been getting at least 3 the past 7+ days as you can see the newer leaves aren't affected. Not my first rodeo.

There's a few I'm really liking and are next to get upgraded accommodations

I'm loving the colors and while I've been trying to isolate these colors and eliminate the deformed leves I'm getting mostly the opposite

These are regulars, boys and girls so I'm going to be whittling down and keeping to 8-10+/- girls. No boys allowed

Still can't beat those purple plants and the grape and berry flavor. Hoping for a purple mom and I'll be harvesting a few of those girls end of May and can't wait
