Thought about adding 1 light to use the extra btu's, but am thinking about co2 burner instead. Those big azz bottles of co2 from welding store are pain in th azz and draw attention while I'm unloading in my paranoid mind. If I run 2k flower, 400mh plus several t5's veg, fans, dehueys, and co2 burner in hot climate with 3 ton split, am I good? Would I still have room for another 1000hps flower or 400mh veg if I needed?

Should be good.

One more question for the gallery. What is the most cost efficient insulation. Spray foam here is 4.00sqft. As much as I want it, mostly out of budget. 10x10 with top is 500ft. 2 grand. Ouch!

schultzie,I used owens corning r22 with a vapor barrier of housewrap on both sides at my spot, available at home depot.Make sure to check the prices because the insulation with no paper moisture barrier is hella cheaper like by half or more!I did my own vapor barrier out of housewrap thats 10 times better than the paper one that comes on the higher priced insulation rolls and saved money. Not as good as sprayfoam but shitloads cheaper and air and water tight.

John, can a mitsu mini split be hooked up to an enviromental controller like a sentinel chhc4?If not is a hard wired tstat better than the remote they come with?

I have never tried. The hard wire stat is really only needed if room is large (bigger than say 14x14).

Thanks, Fish. Got HD and Lowe's across the street from each other less then a mile away. Gonna check that out. Danke

schultzie,go to the post office and ask for a change of address kit and inside it you will find a coupon for an extra 10% off any purchase at lowes!

Thanks john i was curious about the enviro controller and how it would work in conjunction with a mini, the sentinel co2 controller is only like 50 or 60 bucks cheaper than the enviro controller which controls a/c,heat,co2 and humidity. My rooms are only 12x12 so no hard stat required i guess!I will be calling on you when im ready i had a setback when an illegal alien decided to take me out on my harley awhile back, hard to complete the project with casts on and no ability to work!

I have a Sentinel CHHC-4, and I also control my temps with another unit. That said, the Sentinel unit still comes in really handy for controlling heat, humidity and CO2.

BTW, ouch! hope the bike is okay... seriously, take it easy and get well soon.

i was told by ttystikk that cannabis john is the man to question about air conditioning . i live in the north east US . this will be my first grow in the summer . i just installed a 5,200btu air conditioner in a outside wall in my flowering room . my problem, after looking at the air conditioner i just installed was the amount of light coming through the face of the air conditioner . besides changing to a different type of air conditioner does anybody have an idea how to block out that light .
thanks !

Look for the lever or button on front that turns off outside air. Attach a pic of front of your unit. Might help

I have an Americaire 9k btu mini split that stopped blowing cold air. The air handler seems to be working fine and the condenser cycles on. I installed it and I had an A/C guy do the start up.

I checked the copper line connections at the air handler and they look good. The connections at the condenser are oily, not dripping oil all over the place, but there was a drop of oil hanging on the bottom of the flare nut.

Does that brief description give you an idea of what caused the problem? And what I'll need to do to repair it?

Get your a/c guy back and have him find and repair leak. Once that's done he can add new refrigerant as needed.

Back when my walk-in closet was the flowering room I used to cool 4 aircooled 6s with a 10k wall unit.
I hear those portables do not cool as well as a wall unit.
That wall unit is still going right now.
