CJ, I one more question for you. This room is only a part of my garage so I still have lots of room, so I was wondering, is there any reason I shouldn't mount the condenser component of my mini split inside the garage? It would be out of the sun but there isn't much in the way of air circulation. What do you think?

Thanks,
Jack

Do not put it in the garage. It will heat up the garage quickly even in 60F outside weather.

That is what I expected you to say, I just wanted to make sure. Should I shade the outside unit? If it doesn't make any difference than I won't bother.

Thanks very much CJ

CannabisJon.. hows it going brotha'. I am working on my new room/s and want to ask you a question. Here are my specs for the room:

Flower: 16.5" ft x 14.8" ft x 7.2" ft (x7 1000's (x5 air cooled) x2 free hanging w/Awing)

I have a 18000btu yohan mini-split that I was using for a 4k room. The lights were also aircooled. Do you think I will be ok using the same unit with the new setup and say a portable unit?

Hi CJ,

I have 2 24000 btu Frostbox mini splits. One recently began blowing warm air. Restarting it seemed to resolve the issue temporarily. Unfortunately that didn't last. All wiring connections have been checked and rechecked. The compressor ran whenever the unit was restarted. After restarting a couple of times it gave me a code indicating that it is the circuit board. Now the the unit comes on but the fan doesn't blow air.
Frostbox is out of business. What recommendations do you have? I live in a non med state and can't have a tech service it. I'm very mechanical and have no intimidation regarding replacing it myself.
I can go into greater detail regarding the issue if necessary. Please feel free to PM me if you like.
Thanks in advance.

Google Frostbox mini splits. Some are still for sale maybe one of those has parts also or can help you a bit more. Hopefully you can find the board.

Hi
I have a 14 by 10 grow room (about 1200 cubic feet
Running 5 1000w so its getting pretty hot, as much as 35 C
I'm wondering if there could be any negative side effects from installing a 10000 Btu portable A/C system in the room?
Thanks for any advice also :)

What do you think about the Gree Terra 2 Ton unit? I got a lot of mixed feelings about it from people but the only thing they really have me sold on is their warranty. If you have any info on their equipment let me know.

Need more than 10k unit. Would say at least 24k. Get dual hose type portable also.

Mitshubushi Mr Slim has a better warranty. I believe it's 7/7 compressor and parts. I know that Mr Slim is a great product. I have not worked on or installed a Gree unit.

@CannabisJohn hey man i have a quick question. i run a single room in the hot summer time but just got a new A/C, is it possible to set the ventilation of it to a "flip/flop" with my lights?
im thinking somehow like train tracks you know? once lights flip off in one room the AC will shoot to the room the light went on it....

you know of any products or ideas that would help me achieve this? i was thinking about a "Y" with flappers to maybe open an close but im hoping there may be something a little more simple or efficient.

thanks!

You need a zoning system. It will be a control board, tstats for each room, and dampers for each room. Also make sure that all rooms have a hot air return and cold air supply with dampers. Not a DYI project IMO. Hope that helps.

You need a vacuum pump and micron gauge to measure proper vacuum to assure no contaniments or leaks and gauges and hoses to achieve this, best left to the professionals ,not saying it cant be diy with the right tools and know how
