The cucumber plants we had produced like crazy although they spill out all over the ground. The squash spills out all over the ground also but didn't produce near as much.

they just don't seem to like the confinement

This one is giving me fits on it's water needs. I stick my finger in and it is moist.. So I don't water, the next am it's totally wilted
I tried watering when the soil a finger depth felt dampish & still wilted the next day.
This one has me puzzled.
Usually I have the watering figured out by the time the growth is this far along.

are you using drip pans underneath? I've found that to help retain some moisture. plus, I'll give them the regular amount of water, let water (or tea) drain down , then as growing in cloth, they will absorb water pretty quickly then I'll add a little more until I start to see some runoff into pan again

I made the mistake of not documenting how started seeds, and for some reason, I couldn't get any of my last batch to pop. so, I couldn't get guarantee. I just really need someone who knows what will thrive in high desert. I grow mostly sativa/hybrid with a couple indicas.

here in the desert with you pooz! we aren't hitting as high but it has been topping 100 here in South East Arizona. I gave my girls haircuts, to help with heat.

I started growing in 2011 using hds. then about 2015, I stopped after my husband died and I moved into my rv to travel America .
that lasted 4 years, and I came back to AZ, and started growing again about 2022 in a shed until we moved to outside of town where could grow outdoors. this is my first real season of growing outdoors, and I'm loving it.
and I've even started making my own teas, so don't need to by expensive premade mixes. finding as long as soil amended well, using vermiculite helps with moisture, a little extra mag/calcium and horticultural molasses also in worm casting tea. and I've already got larger grow bags on order so can repot my vegetative before it changes. when they are tight, need extra water to help them along . and end been getting daily rains... and a storm that near broke a branch in two..popscicle sticks and paper tape!

My girls are doing good. They didn't seem to mind the 109+ temps but it kicked my arse. Doing ok now that it's under 100! We've had rain a few times..a whooping 3/8" once LoL The other X's we got close to .25 worth haha
But the ladies loved every drop! :)
And I'm in love
It's been a very long week!
Our newest great grand baby is a week old today She had heart surgery at 3days old! The little beauty is healing so fast they are talking about releasing her to go home at the end of this week! Awesome & very thankful
I'll upload more pics of my canna babies tomorrow! Can't wait to catch up with all your beauts

White Runtz ~ I like this plant lots. Growing for it's Anti-inflammatory effects mainly. But, also for chronic pain, anxiety & stress.
I learned real quick she likes a consistent watering schedule! Over watered then fed June 26 & 27 & thought she was a goner
Doesn't like humidity, so I figured I had that covered in my area. Ha
