This year I decided to leave a plot open in the middle of my garden so I can grow a outdoor Grape Gas plant. I want to see how my favorite cultivar would perform in the outdoor conditions but I’m only focusing on the quality so that’s why I threw a clone into the garden at the beginning of August. She started flowering almost immediately and still had a nice stretch so I tied her down to a tomato cage! You have to really look hard to even see her so I would say this technique will work for future summer grows. This plant will be easy to water and maintain so let’s see what we can do!!! She’s a 30% strain and is absolutely gorgeous to look at with the purple colors. I’m excited for this little project let’s go!

Hard to see but I found it. Good work!

Where I live its legal to grow outside if your space meets the state's requirements. (Plants behind a locked barrier, and not in plain site of public view) In most cases, a locked gated back yard with a 6 ft chain link fence around the perimeter qualifies so its not difficult to meet the standards.

However, stealth still has its place. Cops won't bother you but thieves might steal your plants if they know they are there.

I'm digging on this stealth method, but where to find out more? (Link: Post #8)

Cannabis grown at high altitude produces higher amounts of cannabinoids

the Blue Dream we grew in Englewood Co 2013 (a mile higher) got me higher "head" wise then the BDream other cats were pullin thru the midwest....Same kinda heady buzz,...just more intense We also Mangroved(creeped) the plant so it had 3 rootzones.....The main stalk was split..the tops were...

Look for guerilla growing techniques. There are many. I use super-cropping to keep them below the levels of my blackberry bushes that run along the south side of my greenhouse. My neighbor knows what I'm doing. I've given him cuttings to root before so he's doing the same on his property.

What I don't want is the whole neighborhood knowing where my plants are. That's an invitation for trouble. Everything is under lock and key. I have multiple security cameras and dogs to alert me of trouble.

What do you make of this: "We also Mangroved(creeped) the plant so it had 3 rootzones.....The main stalk was split..the tops were rooted...so it had 3 root zones.." Link: Post #8

Does that mean after topping, you let the shoots grow long enough to then bend them into the ground and let them root into the ground and sprout new shoots?

I have been growing within the tomatoes, peppers and veggies for a handful of years. Visually everything blends in together unless you are up close. These are a few seasons ago.

"Here are some stealth tactics: Tie down your plants to the ground for reduced visibility. Rather than allowing them to grow straight up. Put red plastic balls on the plants to make it look like poison berries. Cut the leaf tips square so the plant does not look like cannabis as much. Use small patches instead of larger fields. Do not be organized as in a grid so that it looks a manicured field. Make it look natural which means random arrangement. Plant where nobody goes but that can be very difficult these days. Plant where nobody expects, like in swamps where you can get a constant water supply. Keep your fertilizer sticks hidden from view, cover them with dirt. Keep everything natural looking and do not be so invasive that it is noticeable. No telltales signs at all. Avoid creating highly trafficked pathways, perlite, grower debris like nutrient containers, feeding tubes, fert sticks, etc. are all tells that someone is growing in the area. Be smart and cover everything using nature preferably. This is also applicable to many indoor growers as I have seen dirt from growing buckets with roots dumped or perlite outside of garages and shops. These people are not fooling anybody and by the way, I can also smell soilless mixes like HP Promix. This is inviting cops or grow rippers into your home or backyard. They still can spot your plant visually or by the light signature that the plant emits as well as by gas chromatography. They probably have other detection methods as well of which I am unaware. Be careful out there and please add your comments to help our outdoor growers. Common sense is your best tool..." Link

I was using this technique 20 years ago in Michigan in a big open field and nobody ever knew and I knew nothing about growing or grow techniques it just made sense.. I had them running along the ground which promoted huge yield.
totally surprised this is the first time hearing folks on the farm talk about it!

From my post above (#8): "All of these grafting operations will, if successful, produce a plant which will look like hops, which is fact it will be. The leaves, however, will have taken up the active principle manufactured by the cannabis root stock and the hops resin will be as potent as that of high quality grass". From the 1970 book The Cultivator's Handbook of Marijuana by Bill Drake.
My question to anyone familiar with this tech is has this info been proven to be true?

With how similar Hops looks to cannabis, it would seem to be a waste of time grafting hops onto cannabis as a means of stealth.

The only grafting in cannabis that makes sense would be to have a bunch of different strains on a single plant and not go over your limit and be able to clone diff varieties off one plant or seed variety. I guess you could clone a male on to a female and isolate. In fruit trees it makes sense since they grow a long time.

On one hand they could perhaps battle insects better or pressures but then there's always a con as well.

I wanted to ask about the best way to protect/hide my outdoor grow from helicopters and planes?

I live in a flight path to a small airfield and i know law enforcement would have people with high resolution cameras scanning peoples homes and backyards for growers.

I don't have enough room/space for a greenhouse, and my backyard wouldn't fit one. I have around 15 plants in pots...what would be the best way to hide them from aerial traffic?

This thread is for the purpose of concealing our legal cannabis in our legal states from cannabis thieves, also known as "Rippers", NOT to aid and abet those in illegal states in evading law enforcement, no matter how ass-backwards those states are!
