I think his switch to living soil,, GG Soil and EWC is pure sponsorship. And please,,, don't get me wrong I'm not some big Canucks grow fan. I like most watched one of his videos here and there and always thought to myself that's nice,,, maybe one day I will do that. With the big "BUT" in the back of my mind thinking, "This ain't right". What's the saucery and trickery in these grows of his off cam. This is not suppose to work like this. I would have enjoyed having a Coco & GG grow thirty years ago. With my career being so demanding of my time, mind and body it would have been a blessing. I was backed into a corner. The last 10/12 years of my career I did Ocean Forrest and Bloom City dry ferts just for the simplicity and a constant supply of smoke as I worked my ass off to get to retirement and could wag finger walking away. If I had the space I would be hydro growing. So why not Coco and GG without all the common pain in the ass busy work most Coco grows require. With many of the benefits one see's in a Coco grow and easy as can be. I've got a 27 gal tote packed full of fresh Ocean Forrest which could be turned into living soil and all that fanfare,,, but why? I've not seen one reason to continue on with soil of any type and GG. Got a plant in OF/GG and Coco/GG right now and the Coco/GG is the better grow. I guess I could do a grow off. Have plenty of seed, Rain Science bags, a 2x4 and 3x3 with the same class of lights, and environmental setup. In reality the only difference between the two grows would be the grow media and pheno types. Can do fem photos, auto's or reg. seeds. I keep waiting for my buddy on a strain hunt to see what he ships me. It's going to be sooooooo nice to have real weed again and get rid of all this fufu hybrid shit weed.Coco & GG can work together but even Mr. Canucks moved on to using Living Soil a year or two ago. I generally don't recommend relying on YouTubers for grow advise but it's better than nothing :)

Many here have their own thread with pictures and results to show what they are talking about.
Youtubers [if worth their weight] can edit and show results from experiences not fully exposed to the viewer..

This is why I don't want to use rockwool, I hear its basically like asbestos when inhaled. This is also why I dont use perlite, it rises to the surface of the pot, dries out, and sticks to your buds when the wind kicks it into the nice air-circulation we've all created. I agree with your evaluation of the Canuck dude. Seems like he is really good at cinematography and narration/storytelling, but his grows seem like a bit of a disaster. Really nice bud porn though.It's more based on the way social media works - hide all the bad, highlight/fake all the good. I don't like it and that's all I will say about YT or Instagram growers. Not to say all of them are bad or you can't get good information from them. I just wouldn't recommend relying on them as a baseline for your grow
I also don't get sponsorship money or ad revenue from my Grow Journals or Growing Guide threads. Most people here are providing free knowledge because they want others to succeed and also produce bomb bud for themselves. Can't say the same for the social media crowd.

It took me a bit to realize that unless I was not only following someone but had clicked "watch" on their particular thread, that it is easy to miss something they may say. On top of that there are many threads but I doubt anyone was trying "not"' to help you but rather may have not seen it. I know that many times I find a thread of someone I am following and I've missed the last 2 months of it since didn't click that "watch" icon.
