during veg growth increasing the speed of which cell wall are created is very much appreciated
during mid flower you stop as when this enhanced rate at which cells are created transfer into bud structure which when too dense lead to other problems the bigger overall growth attained during veg itself will lead to increases in bud sites and ultimately yield

My plant in coco is in a 7.5 gal. Rain Science bag. Same coco I think your using, 70/30 Fox Farm. So while not a air pot like yours it's real close and more airy than a cloth pot. I water just to the point it starts dripping. No more than a 1 or 2 oz. Don't care to waste my Gaia Green on run off. Right now I'm watering 5 quarts every other day. If by chance I forget and go 3 days between waterings it jumps up to 2 gal if not more. Within a week or so I will be at 1 gal. per day. With coco you never ever want to let it dry out. After all coco is basically slow-mo hydro so you always want it moist. I also like my water on the cool side which isn't a issue this time of year. The cooler the water the more oxygen it will have in it. I like to see my water temps between 55f to 70f. I also use Recharge, Power SI in veg and SI Bloom when flowering all at half dose. Also mix in some DE when I feed the Gaia Green every few weeks. Put 1 tbsp of Epsom Salt per gal. every other watering or so. But according to many I don't water soil right because I refuse to let it dry back like 99.999999% are told to do as new growers.

Coco plant as of 1/5. It's called Funkey Monkey. It's a super sketch hybrid. Done with some Freak Show mutation mess and GG#4. I've only seen it grown outdoors and it will go full tree mode. I've seen these plants get 30' tall. As a matter of fact the breeder is a neighbor of mine. Everytime he grows these outdoors trash ends up stealing off the plants. One local POS trash boy ended up climbing up on the breeders roof and hacked a top off one this past season. I got video of him cutting across my property carrying the top of the plant. We ID him. And then him and three of his trash buddies went to a local salvage yard and were ripping off that place one night. Old man that owns the place shot all four of them dead. Then hacked them up and threw them in a local river and took off to Fl. If he would have just shot them then called the police he would have been good. Love it when thieves get killed.

Nice looking plant and even better story. Sounds like the punks ripped off the wrong guy. That’s some crazy going’s on.
Thanks for giving me the skinny on your watering. Sounds like I need to water my 7gal plant more often. I was afraid the roots wouldn’t reach way down to the bottom of the pot. It’s a skinny tall pot.
I watered today and it had been 3 days since the previous time….which was Friday. It took right at 2 gallons and I had maybe 2-3 oz of runoff. That’s the most I’ll usually get.
I probably need to try every other day and go with 1.25-1.5 gal.
I have noticed that right after I water the plant really takes off. It could be sending me a message.
Do u include the Epsom salt in addition to cal mag? If so, where do u get your calcium?
I worked so hard to train these plants and I think I may have overdone it. I have so many little side branches that right at or below the canopy. I wonder if they will produce nice tight nuggets or if I should remove some of them….
The pic is from last week which was the end of their first week of 12/12.

I think my favorite trick I learned from @Shaded_One was.. leave room in your pots for top dressing.. cus after the top dress you layer more promix/base soil on top. Instead of using a wetting agent.

Hello and welcome to my "Growing with Gaia Green" guide! Figured I would just make a post that can be referenced instead of constantly writing this out in DM's or threads. Gaia Green products are 100% organic dry amendments for cannabis use. They are a Canadian based company but they also sell their product in the USA as well. They have a lot of products to offer and you may find a specific use for some of them due to your variables but I am just going to focus on what I personally use in my stack.

Sprout phase, ~1 week: NO nutrients are being added to the growing medium. Earth worm castings & cotyledons provide more than enough nutrition for the first 2 weeks of a seeds life
-transplant to 1gallon-
Early veg phase, 4 weeks: amend 3tbsp of 100% All Purpose 4-4-4 per gallon of medium eg. 3tbsp of 4-4-4 for a 1gallon container
Late veg phase if needed, 4 weeks: top dress 3tbsp of 100% All Purpose 4-4-4 per gallon of medium eg. 3tbsp of 4-4-4 for a 1 gallon container
-transplant to 5gallon-
Early flower phase, 1 week before flipping lights: amend 3tbsp of 50% All Purpose 4-4-4 and 50% Power Bloom 2-8-4 per gallon of medium eg. 8tbsp of 4-4-4 and 8tbsp of 2-8-4 for a 5gallon container
Mid flower phase, week 3 or 4 of flower: top dress 3tbsp of 25% All Purpose 4-4-4 and 75% Power Bloom 2-8-4 per gallon of medium eg. 4tbsp of 4-4-4 and 12tbsp of 2-8-4 for a 5gallon container
Late flower phase, sativa plants: if you have a sativa plant chances are they may need an additional weeks of growing time so you could do a light top dress 2tbsp of 100% Power Bloom 2-8-4 per gallon of medium eg. 10tbsp of 100% Power Bloom 2-8-4 for a 5gallon container
-harvest-

This is the basic feed schedule and this is a FULL STRENGTH feeding regiment meaning you are pushing your plant pretty hard. Certain strains and different growing environments may mean that you might only need to use 2/3 of what I have here for amounts. I recommend starting off with 2/3 of what is listed and increasing to full amounts if you're certain that your plants can handle it.

Additional supplements that I use are:

Mycorrhizae
I generously dust the root ball EVERY time I transplant and I also add a couple scoops into my soil mix any time I amend some soil to be going into a new container. Do not underestimate your rhizosphere

Epsom Salts - Magnesium Sulfate
LEDs increase the demand for Mg and this helps cover that demand. Overall plant health and nutrient uptake seems to improve when adding 1tbsp of Epsom Salt every 2 weeks

Gypsum - Calcium Sulfate
Decreases soil salinity and improves soil structure while also providing Calcium and Sulfate. 1tbsp of Gypsum every 2 weeks

Rock Dust Blend - micronutrients and humic acid
Used primarily to supplement micronutrients that may be lacking. Overall plant health and lushness improved since I started adding 2tbsp every 2 weeks

Pretty much once you get started you are either amending or top dressing in 4 week blocks, adding supplemental nutrients every 2 weeks, and then you just water your plants. Good luck and happy growing!

With the Gypsum and Rock dust blend do you just top dress with it every 2 weeks?

Thanks for this coming over from the dark side, been using Advanced nutrients for years but want to save some $$ and time.

Gypsum, Epsom, and Rock Dust/Azomite get added every 2 weeks at about 1-2 tablespoons each.

Currently am testing a 4 week block using 1/2 a cup of each instead so far so good

Thanks @Shaded_One for the thread. I got so lost in the discussion, though, that I'm not sure what to do. Gaia Green, apparently, is a complex collection of products. So, it's unclear to me what to add, when to add it and how to add it. It seems I may need to read the product literature.

No problem BB! Just read my very first post :)

They have the all purpose (veg blend) and power boom (flower blend) that's all you really need/use from the Gaia Green line with my recipe.

The Epsom, Azomite, and Gypsum can be any assorted brand that fits your needs. DM if you have any questions

Just a quick query please, ive found "big foot" Mycorrhizae for like $50 plus shipping and another brand for like $20 shipping inc (agrodav) so my question is how much do brands matter for Mycorrhizae granules? Are they more or less the same or is it known to be some duds out here
Tia

If u follow the recipe you’ll be good with whatever you decide to get. Earth worm castings are full of microbes.
I think there’s myco in promix bx too

Get whatever’s local and avoid massive shipping fees. I’m in the states and Gaia isn’t as common. Dr earth is sold everywhere and they carry a 4-4-4 and a bloom mix. Local grow shops should carry a bunch of different myco brands.

Also gypsum and dolomite lime should cost $10 or less for a 40# bag. Home Depot will carry or ship to store the garden gypsum. Feed stores should have the lime.

So like these kinds of shipping fees?? Everything soil and nutrients gets charged as freight shipping and its really starting to piss me off.

Yes exactly. I strongly recommend locally sourcing as much as you can. I feel like so many people think they need a specific brand or product to grow cannabis. Once they have their first harvest they get too excited to realize they spent an arm and a leg to accomplish this.
