Has bud gotten less dense overall in thd past 10 years? Less pgr's?

I'm doubtful less people are using PGRs. Probably less vocal, but the want for profit hasn't decreased.

Weren't the majority of pgr products pulled from shelves years ago?

Perhaps if we're talking about retail products from hydro stores directly aimed at cannabis growers. But plant PGRs still exist and if you care to use them, you can find them. Keep in mind that many of them are used legitimately in horticulture, agriculture and tissue culture. A small time grower may not find it's worth the hassle and research involved in acquiring the right PGR, but a commercial grower might find that 10% increase in yield too much to resist. There's a long list of auxin, cytokinins, gibberellins and so on that are still widely and easily available. Do I want to smoke that shit? No. But there are plenty who put profit first, or might not even recognize the safety concerns regarding use of PGRs.

As has been said already,the last week or two is when the plant puts on most of its density,but these,master growers pull them before then,coz there's other idiots who,ll buy it,never mind if it's flushed or not,makes me wonder what the world's comein to,,76

Loving the opinions here but feel I should clarify my OP. I'm talking on high quality buds, in general, being less of rock hard buds, the ones that tink of the table like hash does. I also wasn't getting the OGs back then lots of dutch genes I believe. Lots of blueberry and orange crush nugs that you couldn't squish. The green crack we used to get was way more dense then the grcks I see now. I prefer the somewhat squishy nugs of today over the super dense bitch broke a nail nugs that used to run rampant through the central coast.
Also back then my contacts weren't who they are today. Mostly kids running oz and qps vs brokers and growers I know today. One things for sure quality and quantity of quality is up through the roof.

the probable answer is that it's due to a combination of reasons, not just one. i definitely think genetics have improved and that access to those genetic has become easier. this would have made a difference. i think you're probably right that pgrs are less popular than they once were too.

I've found light density is the main issue, combined with too short a veg period. Most new growers overcrowd their grow tent/closet, which means they don't get enough light, seems they don't pay heed to 'less is more'. Although, plant genetics plays a big part, good buds are born not made.
