How do I keep rats or mongoose out of my soil? I don't even have animal byproduct in this run so i don't know what they are after. I have one 10 gal. of coots mix and every day i find big holes in the soil, today they went all the way through the bottom of the pot.

Go at them full force with eat traps and cuttle fish as bait. I had the same problem once witch field rats digging up my soil on a guerrilla grow. They were going after my polimer crystals for the water. Rats are a seasonal thing, get after them hard with traps take 5-10 out and you'll be good. Cuttle fish is they key for bait. It's tough so u can wedge it in the little hook thing on the trap. They have hard time stealing it with out setting the trap off.
