Damn bro, you did such an awesome job with these girls. Mad props to your growing skills and ojd's breeding talent! Congrats on being an official tester! Kick ass!
Can't wait to hear your smoke report on #1 & #2. I'm at 64 days today so i'll be taking some girls down this weekend! They're putting on some weight :)
Would love to see a wrap up on what you think of the super soil, 18 gal vs. 10 gal tubs, and other general conditions i.e. temps, humidity, and additives you may have used.
Thanks bro!
Thanks homie for the props!! I just plant'em and maintain!! lol. Yeah I'll give #1 and #2 some time in the jars before doing a full report. Can't wait to see your finished pics!!
So here's the wrap on that, and I have been taking some root mass pics but have refrained from showing them as they are not all that impressive.
18g tubs definitiely produced the largest plants, but did not necessarily use all the dirt/root space available. Neither did the 10g or 15g. It seems other room conditions inhibited growth slightly or I simply did not water enough. I think one factor was the humidity. I hovered anywhere between mid 20s to high teens. Sometimes I would get up to 30% but that was rare. This run I will probably be watering every day instead of every other day and if that doesn't get humidity into the 40-50% range I will add a room humidifier.
I also did not trim near enough of the lower growth off. The vertical works great, but popcorn is popcorn. This round of Sour Diesels and Straw Whites have had the lower 1/3 or so removed as I used to do, and I can tell by the branching, the bud growth will all be in the optimal light area.
Staking plants was also an issue last run, as I waited to long to stake, couldn't tie up in the right spots etc. This run, since the plants were much larger going into the room than run 1, I retained the LST and tied down the branches to the 18g pots and put in all stakes already. This opened up most plants DRAMATICALLY. As in the buds in the middle of the plant will get hella light. This run should be much more productive per plant just from getting through the first round bugs of the room and trial and error on my part.
I will also be adding at least 1-2 more oscillating fans to hit areas in the room that I don't think get enough circulation and I will also be re-routing my exhaust fan to eliminate some ducting that is inhibiting cooling.
Temps got a little high towards the end of flower and recently due to an exhaust line coming undone in the lung room. This led to about an 8 degree increase. My temp/humidity gauge was busted/low batt so I had no clue for about a week. I could tell it was warmer, but not terribly so. Sooo....now things have been taken care of. Temps are back to kick ass, and this round will outproduce I am sure. It will also be a bit more consistent with only two strains to manange. Though I'm sure I will find tremendous pheno variation, finish times will be relatively close.
This last run worked out well, but closer finish times would be better when bringing new plants in and moving around old- ie. I harvested 1 OG, 2 Hazeys, and 2 Bubbas over a week and a half a go. Harvested OG #2, Hazey 3 and
Snowdog last night. Still have Sour Daze, PJ Haze and 1 Hazey left in the room and 6 brand new additions. This pushed the Hazey, daze, and pj a little further out of main light, but they are near finished so I know its not as crucial as developmental light. Either way...I like the staggered harvest but its not far enough apart to be uber beneficial. Things will be a bit better when the 4x8 is set up.
PM bro and Ill shout at ya bout weights this round etc..
Still!?! Oh man, that looks sooo good! :bow
Lol, thanks bro, and still got one more lady to finish up in a week or two and get chopped. She is a slow one!
