Paradise found, aint it nice???? Live it up!!! So nice to have a special place...
Yep :) Its awesome..:D

Not as easy and kick back as my previous life at the beach living on a sailboat ;)
But I love animals and Farming and cant afford to do that at the beach yet.

I Know folks like you and Kolah work Hard to live they way you do.
Keeps ya fit!

I really respect you guys! You give me inspiration!

What we put into what we do cannot be bought or sold. Its about dreams comming true. After awhile youll find the work aint hard at all. Will take time. Even after 12 years theres still lots to do, it never ends. There are times we struggle but if you believe in your dreams and follow your heart life is pretty awesome...Incredably beautiful outside at the moment, suns out, not too cold, 20 or so, chores done, nice dinner in the works, hot fire, seeking out and enjoying the simple things in life are best....Time to get ripped!!!

Fuck me dead...18 bucks!!!... Were paying 9 bucks, from my regular guy, luckly we barter for goodies and cash make it a little eaiser for us...

C-man,I can get good grass hay for 9 bucks a bale but they only weight 35-40 pounds. I like the bigger bales which weight 90 lbs. How much are your bales weighing in it?

Ken, is that wild oats growing in your pasture? I have never seen that.

My boy tank and his toys...

This was a really interesting read guys , my how i would love to live off the land and be simple means kind of person. nothing like walking outback and cutting your christmas tree down

He has one of those cones :)
They have a Mineral block too. And they do love that
He has 2 acres of oak trees to chew on..
I'm thinking I could cover the posts with chicken wire...
If he's got plenty of mineral sources (I personally have put down too many horses to colic to advocate letting them chew on the soil, after spending days walking the poor animal), then I would change salt licks and give him more toys. If he's an intelligent horse then he's either finding ways to entertain himself, and you do NOT want him trying to chew on chicken wire, or he's got a deficiency he's trying to correct.

I'm gonna suggest the Sea-90 again, as it's quite tasty and has excellent reports of increased animal health.

Also, how are his teeth? Watch him when he eats, is the feed falling out of his mouth? If so, that's a sure sign he needs proper dental care, which nowadays isn't just a regular floating with the bite block and straight float.

I have feed bins for both the horse and the goats
I just got lazy...I will try to use those and not feed on the soil
The horse is smart...He plays with the food bin and always pushes it around
So its not where is suppose to be
I think his teeth are good..I just had his hoofs trimmed and the Farrier said he looked great

Also I only feed when they have cleaned up everything from previous feeding. They will get hungry enough to clean it all up eventualy. I feed chickens and goats twice daily, for chickrns its morning in the outside feeders, just enough to make it through the daylite hours, then in evening I feed inside barns at dusk, so when lites come on at 2am, hens need 14 to 16 hours daylite to ovulate, they have something to eat upon waking up. In time youll figure out requirements and save bigtime on feed costs...

My Christmas message to wife...

All the joys a heart can know are found in your love...
Weve discovered that love means a whole lot more than we knew when we first got married..
Weve weathered changes, aquried more patience, and grown so much.
Sharing everything good and bad thats come our way.
Something thatsome people never know...
... A loving lasting commitment to each other above all else.
Iam looking forward to many more Christmases that we have to share.
All my love.. Chickenman
