Evolution is a great thing. I remember black and white tvs. I personally think HDTV are much better. :○}

you make it sound like seeded weed have a huge impact on terpene concentration, profile and potency , well seeded weed will most of time taste nearly the same as long as you remove seeds, and potency won't be so much lower than if it wasn't seeded.

so the comparaison between black and white tv and hdtv improvement doens't sound accurate at all.

but whatever float your boat

as well to urban legend with hermie, if you got seeds from a lite hermie locally due to environnemtal stress the first few weeks of flowering stretch, next generation ratio of hermie vs 100% females won't be straight a lot higher than the previous generation and you will still get a good ratio of 100% females within a batch.

moslty just sayin' that not the end of the world when you get an hermie or seeds, most hermie case are easy to deal with, lot of people make it sound so dramatic ...

I haven't said or implied any of that, not that i dont believe most of it to be true.
I do not enjoy cleaning seeds when I smoke, I smoke a ton.
I do not enjoy smoking seeds. Do you?
One of the reasons my smoke is always smoked first and foremost amongst a band of smokers. It's like smoking a piece of divine.
Cheers

yeah that's the most annoying part, carefully removing seeds but other than that, not the end of the world if you get some seeds once out of many grow.

like you i avoid getting seeds, but i never kill any lite hermie (and it's not unusual i have a few per batch depending strains) and if i get some seeds i don't bother that much about it.

actually launching thoose seeds i got as back up replacement each time i start a grow in case something goes wrong, i m short on renewing my weed stock in between growsession and delaying germination hurt, grew them twice with still a good ratio of 100% females within the batch

I just noticed the top that looks like a "week 2" flower and if it's the same plant then it just hermed is all. Funny they don't look like hermed balls, they look like ball balls.

Ok, these three pics are the one confirmed as a male. Male?

This one I believe is a female. Female?
if it has:

only female flower (calyx/bract with pisitil/stigma) that's a female
only male flower (balls and bananas) that's a male
both female and male flower that's a hermie

unlike female flower, male flower will fall easily from the plant if you just touch them with your fingers.
Pluck them before they are mature enough to drop some pollen preferably and when dealing with lite hermie

also no one mentionned it but with lite hermie usually balls stop to show past flowering stretch.

Bbs male female
Bbs Male female 1
Bbs MALE FEMALE plant cannabis

Some of you growers got some strange thoughts on hermies... hermies equals junk where I'm from.

your aware lot of landrace strain carry the hermy trait, like marroccan beldia for exemple, and you call them junk ...

some strain are just prone to herm, nothing especially wrong with that ...

... and if weed from an hermie taste good and still get you high enough i don't see a reason to call it trash either ... that's exagerated.

Yep, junk genetics

Smoking weed with seeds in it was common back in the long-forgotten times when I first started my life with marijuana. Apart from seeds exploding and burning holes in my shirts, I thought it was good. I grew lots of plants from the seeds I didn't smoke. That was good, too. Nowadays, I buy seeds from an ever-expanding selection driven by marketplace competition. Also good, but vastly different. Since then, there have been countless generations of plants bred to grow in artificial conditions. Times change, and so do our favorite plants, yet many ancient traits formed by thousands of generations guided by natural selection persist, regardless of what we humans do to interfere. The gifts of nature are awesome and must be respected, lest we lose them forever.

My last words on the subject.
Are hermies a desirable trait?
Not in my opinion.
In my garden my rules apply. Hermies are trash, in the trash they go.

Grower's choice — in my opinion. I don't care to involve myself in this debate, other than to take a moment to appreciate the tremendous adaptability of these plants. Is it "junk genetics"? No. Without this manifestation of millions of years of evolution and species survival from one generation to the next, we might not have these plants to improve this life of ours.
