Hempy LED Grow: DP Power Plant

The girls loved their last feeding, all perked up and have grown noticeably within just the last few hours! The pic of the single plant is the best one by far, way ahead of the rest and just better looking too. Im starting to finally enjoy this.

Agree w/JR B4M
You are feeding new to replace old so run off is relative to what you want 40% or 60%
I have 20-30% myself and I am good to go with that in my hempy coco.....
your doing great and
yes you have a N def upping your mix to 350ppm is a good start you may find you need to go 400. little is better than too much.
Keep um Green Irish

Ummm I am not an LED expert but someone chime in on the distance

So maybe I should keep slowly upping the nutes bit by bit until I hit about 400 PPM?

Regarding light distance, its roughly 12" away from the plants and temp at plant level stays between 70Β° & 80Β°

watch the leaf curl close in regarding to lights
your PPM 350 IMO 5-7 days then a bit more BUT ONLY if still deficient..... little steps bro if she looks healthy your good.
if you see tips burn drop it down some....
again You are Doing better than a lot of growers and the more you ask the better you get.
Take care Irish.

I am just a grower like you I have seen lots of grows and I have helped on very large to very small but up until last year I was always some one else grows...
now
I grow for me
and what I like. Their is a joy and a feeling of accomplishment
when you blaze up your own nugs.
IMO that's why I do it.
and why I try to help

Thanks flying, Il do that then.

@ johnny I thought that people put their LED's as close to plants as possible without burning them?

Some people have told me 15" or 18" or 22" and some even told me 30". Then after spending hours resarching I got a whole bunch of other numbers so its hard to know who to believe.

I seen some people say that the whole point of LED is that you can get your light as close to plants as possible without causing heat problems and that makes sense to me. I mean dont people have HID & HPS as close as 20" to plants?

Totally agree Flying, nothing better than smoking nugs that you grew yourself.

you can run 3w LED's closer but the numbers I gave you are from Blackdog...they also use 5w LED's and that is what they say to use... lights too close can cause the curling just like FlyingJ said...

Isnt blackdog one of the high end brands though? Vipar LED's are budget LED's really and wouldnt perform as well as some of the more expensive brands.

I moved it to about 15"-16" away just there and Il see how they respond to that before going to 18"-20".

I thought people rarely go by LED manufacturers recommendations on light distance though?

Il see how it plays out, but heat at plant level isnt an issue with the LED and isnt it heat that would cause the leaf curling? Or is there such a thing as too much light?

Oh and also although mine are 5w LED's they dont run at 5w. Its rated at 600w but actual draw is only 360w. The blackdog your looking at may be 600w actual draw maybe?

The Blackdog I'm looking at is 360W actual draw... it's the same light as the Mars 2 700W (360w draw)...

also, looking at the specs on your light, it says it needs 24 inches from the canopy for maximum coverage...

I'd try backing them off a little bit...

Ah I see. Well I backed off to 16" and that seems to be perfect in terms of light coverage for my plants. 24" seems extreme since a 600w HPS could be placed that same distance with no issues.

Or am I wrong on that? Been a while since I researched HPS.

Anyway Il see how they do under 16" distance and may bring it to 18" after a few days, but it looks just right. Any further and they just arent getting the same intensity

Beautiful day out so Im giving the girls direct sunlight. As you can see, one stands out among the rest. Should I give her more attention than the rest since she will most likely yield more than the rest?

Also will be feeding again today and will be upping the nutes from .75ml per litre to .85ml per liter

ya know...I don't usually give any one plant more love than another but I always give mine names and surely have favorites throughout...I've had some big killer plants that didnt smoke as well as lower yield plants...

thats what i wanted to see! the natural light on em. if possible you should shoot some close ups of those babies in that light. looks good man. glad your finding your stride. slow and steady wins the marathon. good stuff. + vibes bro

Thanks fellas, have run into a small problem though and need some advice.

I was mixing up my nutrient solution and after I added the nutes the PH was 6.8 (which it always seems to be) and Iv become very good at lowering the PH to exactly 5.8-5.9 so I added the same amount of PH down that I always do.

Then, I retest the PH and its still at 6.8. So I rinse the meter, retest again, and it climbs up to 6.9 and then 7!

I know for a fact the PH would actually really be between 5.8 to 6.0 because the amount of PH down I use always brings it to that so I just used it.

But how do I calibrate the meter? I have a bottle of PH7 but have no idea what to do.

Also, I havnt had the cash to get storage solution so have just been leaving tap water in the cap. Thats ok for a temporary situation right?
