If I find a high THCv cut in my seeds I'm gonna gift it to anyone who wants it and I hope that everyone that gets it breeds it, makes a new strain and then sells the seeds and makes millions from the seed sales. I'm not petty, make money with my help. How do you think all of these designer strains got here? Do you think every breeder walked the earth and started with landrace strains? Nope, they were gifted cuts from friends or they grew out tons of seeds that someone else made, found keepers and they bred them together and then sold the seeds.
I bet the jerks that are opposed to someone else making money with their genetics go to dispensaries and fork over all kinds of cash to uncle sam but then they are too stingy to let the poor guy make a buck...

I have to agree with Red and Skeptik..
Conversation went from nice and collaborative with people trying to contribute where they saw the opportunity to share..
Now money comes into the equation and taints it IMO..
I've touched base with Skeptik over the last year and a bit as we share the same target, but different reasons..My THCV focus was for a friend and a family member with diabetes and another issue..
Not looking for bucks here..screws the collaborative spirit and the reason I joined

I have lived paycheck to paycheck before. It blows, and is very stressful. I got stress for other reasons. I come here to learn and work together which I find relaxing, not to take on more stress. I believe the answer is currently converting photons into sugar 12 feet away from me as I type. The issue with sharing is I'm also going to kill your potential short term market in the process. By the very approach we are taking, we are handing the power directly to anyone that wants it. It is also my belief that cannabis will become legal nationally (USA) in the next 4 years. When that happens, long term market changes and big players step in, breeders get squashed or go work for Phillip Morris or Pharmacia. Who could possibly compete with them that's participating in this thread?

Do you know the story of Charlotte's Web CBD? Did you know Charlotte died of flu? It got me thinking about how I would love for cannabis to have another win like this application of CBD and have it freely available to anyone who needs it. That's where I am going with THCV, and I cannot be stopped. I'm trying to tactfully say that you really should look for other areas to plan your future financial endeavors. You may have missed it but I just ordered THCV extract from Hemp. It will be here Monday. If this is real, it's just one more problem with trying to get rich off a cannabinoid. Imagine if a $50B company decided to become active in the research. You have maybe 2 years from today to find something patentable about your process or you will not own anything. But to end on a high (pun intended) there are millions of other things you could do to improve your financial future. Then use the profits to buy THCV rolled into a Marlboro Light +V at the local gas station.

I have multiple health problems that I use cannabis for. I by no means use or manipulate anyone's genetics for personal gain. I give the medicine that I grow away regularly. I have a passion for this plant because it helps me and I know it's healing properties. I really was joking when I said everyone just send me cuts. I'm not stupid, I knew that people wouldn't take kindly to something like that, I just figured that people would realize that I was joking.
The reason that I want to create a strain is to help other people get the medicine that they need, selling the seeds and profiting would just be a bonus to the only way that I can get those seeds into the hands of the people that need them. If you had ever met me you'd likely say that I'm one of the nicest people that you'd ever met. I'd give the shirt off of my back if it'd help you and I'd also give seeds away if anyone needed them.
As far as a corporate takeover of the seed market I don't see it happening that soon. There are too many seed banks and too many strains for everyone to just buy marlbrojuana.

Think about it, if I was serious I wouldn't have said anything. If I was a dishonest person I would have lied and said that I would trade cuts and never sent them. I'm just the opposite, I would send you cuts and expect nothing in return...

Yes, I think the seed market is safe from takeover. I'm talking about the cannabis market. They will be selling cannabinoid coffee at starbucks. Hell, they probably already have CBD there, I dunno. But this widespread availability will have an effect on a small guy trying to make it in the cannabis market.

The people who want to grow their own will always seek supply. So again you will be competing with free cuts and seeds. Your product will have to be spectacular to compete with free. If you wanna try, knock yourself out. Like I said, I'll share. That's the problem with your plan.

I don't wanna sell weed, I wanna sell the seeds. Seeds are much less hassle to sell. You can do one seed run and get 20k seeds. They may not all sell right away but as soon as seedbanks hear about them they will fly off the shelf if it's good stuff. This is just a dream of mine and may never come into reality. First I'd need two killer THCv cuts then I'd need to seed, grow out several phenos and then back cross my faves. Then after the back crossing I'd have to grow out examples to see the phenos expressed. After all of that I may have to start all over and do it again if it isn't A1.

I just got some high THCV seeds the other day and plan to order more soon. It will be a while b4 I'm able to share as I have plants in 3 different growth stages but I'll pop the first THCv seeds soon, after the seedlings are transplanted.

Same here but necessity is the mother of invention. You guys have me all wrong. I like to help people, I pull over and help strangers with car trouble. I give cannabis and edibles away. I use cannabis for medicine for mental and physical problems that I don't like to discuss. I want to create my own strain to help people, if I tried to give the seeds away nobody would want them. I have 6 kids 3 living at home and I work a 9to5 to provide for them with zero help from their mom.
I'm sorry for the rant but I feel like I'm being attacked on my own thread because of a joke. I'm sorry for what I said and I will prove it if anyone will give me the chance.

I regularly give away my home grown medicine for free and then run out of medicine before my next harvest and then have to go buy some.

I got Varins G and novarine, I think I will pop some of the novarine first since they give a range of THCv. Varins G just says 1:1 THCv : CBG, it could be 1% of both for all I know. Plus the novarine seeds are fem. I can only pop 3 at a time, hopefully there's a keeper in the first 3.
