O yea dude, dont worry too much about the density. I mean, worry about it, improve it if you can, but dont let it bother you. I just finished my first grow and ended up with some really good but really fluffy stuff. Just keep growing :)
Wow... beatiful plant, what strain and what bank?

Thanks man! You actually helped me grow it hahaha well you gave me good advice when i needed it at least 😅

Platinum Garlic OG, it was a bag seed from a grower called Triple Seven

I dont know man, you said your buds are fluffier, mine are hard as a rock, so based on what you said I thought yours were not hard hahaha so are they fluffy or are they rock hard?

OK, let me explain. Go out to your yard and get a pebble or some gravel from your driveway.... Any small rock will do. This is how hard the dispensary bud is... Literally. Its also like grinding rocks in my grinder...

My buds are fluffy in comparison to these rocks, but still firm to touch.

Tell me how this looks (already posted)... This is an example of what my buds look like after cure.

Hahaha yes I remember being in your post and I still check it from time to time, but so many notifications... sometimes I mix one post with another or I completely forgot the strain or I dont see the notification.

First bud looks like it could be fluffy. Calyxes are not very big and you can see empty spaces in the nug, still is a beatiful nug with a lot of trichomes that I would love to try, not saying otherwise and thats what it looks to me, maybe I was conditioned by what you said but I still see it not being as hard. Second pic looks like theyre more compact. But its your buds so tell me if Im wrong hahaha.

Alright you guys are showing me I'm doing nothing wrong, our buds are similar.

Most likely nothing wrong, but its possible theres a slight nutrient deficiency. My guess for mine is that i didnt provide enough potassium, which limited proper phosphorus intake. At least thats a thing iv read online and plan on implementing this time around lol wel see if it makes any difference

Thanks, appreciate it. As you can see its not exactly scraggly , but there is some air and spacing in that bud.

Those buds went on the late side of harvest, all cloudy with amber showing... NL is 7-9 weeks I go almost 10...(and have tried earlier harvest as well)

I guess we are all struggling over the definition of hard..(don't go there lol). My buds if squeezed by hand will compress slightly. The dispensary bud are like cement.

No argument, I'm still finding flower difficult and am very aware that this may be a cause of my "fluffy -ness" if they are fluffy.

Man, I'm getting a headache now, I'm so confused ! Just like most things in this hobby, could be this, could be that, maybe so, maybe no, ARGHHHHHHH !!!!!

Its the pain and the beauty of growing, no matter how many years youre into it something is gonna fuck with you and you will learn something new hahaha. If youre happy with the consistency thats all that matters. If youre making mistakes, we all are, different ones, or maybe even the same ones. There's always room for improvement specially now that its being researched more. Google has google scholar, its like google but only searches for studies, there's also a ton of people pushing new info on social media every year, you just need to listen to the ones that search for studies insteaad of bro science. (Even though bro science sometimes is right)

Thanks for the pep talk man, this is great and I needed it... You have no idea how much I read on these subjects, I dig really deep. I even use gardening forums to learn about growing due to less "bro science" there...

Anyway, thanks again. This hobby can be frustrating no doubt ! Also thanks for the tip on google scholar, I've never heard of it and it sounds great (although I hardly use google at all anymore).. Gotta go Duckduckgo !

Co2 and extreme light levels!

No Co2 For me, I'm a secret grower that grows in plain site. People walk inches from my plant without knowing its there...

I've heard about Co2 and using stronger light but it won't be an option for me due to complexity and my very small space.

All of my grows are in a 16 x 16 x 32 inch grow cabinet. Oddly this small space provides more weed for me than I can possibly smoke ! My last harvest was 1.5 years ago and I'm still smoking it now, daily.

Theres a product that uses fungus in a bag to put out a little extra CO2 for people in your situation, product is called Exhale.

Wont add a ton of carbon dioxide, but itl add some and shouldnt stink the place up lol

Thanks for the tip. I've seen something like a soda bottle for sale at my nursery that cost way too much. In the future, I may try Co2 but for now, I'll keep it simple. I'm quite happy with my buds, just curious why they are so different than what I buy...

This is a DIY Co2 method that I've read up on before and they want something like $20 for the same thing in my nursery..

To make carbon dioxide (CO₂) at home, mix 2 cups of sugar with warm water in a 2-liter plastic bottle, then add 1/4 teaspoon of yeast. Seal the bottle and within a few hours, the yeast will ferment the sugar, producing CO₂ gas.

Yes, in my case Im their CO2 bag for my main indoors because its in my room with my computer so yeah... I think that works too hahaha. The problem more than the CO2 is buying LEDs with good diodes so you can push umols without burning your plants. I can get 900umols if I place them close, and in winter I do, have good enough ventilation, but during summer the heat of the panels is too much at that distance. That's were energy effience samsung LEDs make the difference and thats why people pay 300-600 dollars instead of buyin my cheap ass 60 euros chinese LEDs hahaha.

I also wanna say, in case it came across wrong, that Im well aware that having a good set up doesnt instantly make you a good grower, you have to go through the learning process like everyone else and the more years you have it shows usually. But some people like me with limited resources can grow very good weed with what we have available. Some day I would like to upgrade my set up, and my house for that matter, but right now one works with what he has, I dont have a set up in which increasing CO2 is gonna make any difference with the lights I have and with no AC. Im glad enough that I can play with temps and humidities because I have several cheap in-line fans to increase or decrease airflow and hopefully get my VPD right for most of the time. Also if cheap LEDs have an advantage that would be that theyre very good stoves in winter with little wattage 🤣 I barely have to turn on my electric stove, only in very cold days. You could probably cook an egg on top of one of mine and its only 150W. I use aluminum baking molds as passive refrigeration on top of them... better than nothing pfhahaha.
