Start out basic and easy till you learn what you're doing. Then experiment.

Nate,

Take look at the content label on any bottle of fertilizer. Notice the items listed in the highest percentage. Especially the N-P-K. Go to anywhere, search for the individual components. For instance, a 5lb bag of FeSO4 costs about $25. Lasts forever and is a good for foliar applications. Depending on your type of culture and water you may or may not need to consider micronutrients. But that stuff at cvs.

Yes, like AC says - start out simple. My other rule is - less is more. Don’t over salt. Go buy a test plant.

I have a ton of leftover G&H Soil B. I like it but honestly I’m only using it because it’s here and already paid for. Does anyone have a good (and inexpensive) suggestion for what I can use in place of the Soil A formula?

I just figured if I have to purchase part A or an equivalent, then maybe there’s something out there that might be more cost effective.
