Although autos aren't near the level of some photos, I expect that autos will surpass photos at some point because they can be bred faster.
Are there any tests that show a correlation like that?In my opinion shortening the life cycle is what is ruining the high of old. And likely the important cannabinoids like thcv.
A 12 week strain is always more complex and interesting than an 8 weeker.

I only started smoking last year and I've pretty much only smoked my own weed so I don't have a lot to compare but I find that I get different types of high mainly from quantity. The more I smoke, the less I laugh and the more I stare no matter what the strain.I wish. The industry is only interested in profit. Long flowering plants make less money. And most have already been hybridized to flower shorter anyway. Like the old brick weed was so good in the 80’s because it could be panama red or one of the lost mexican sativas. By the 2000’s brick weed from the same source was very different. Crappy. Short legs. No fast hit. More body high and less trippy. Hybridized over the years with faster plants for more harvests.
Same with breeding for high tested thc. Something else goes missing...
Maybe im just getting old and jaded. My weed now is obviously more potent than the old weed. But a lot less laughing goes on. And a lot more staring.
Im still confused on a seed bank i been searching all day through reviews aint still nothingBecause autos carry generally are a lower thc % due to the genetics they are often left out of the top quality discussions.
Generally you can flip a clone asap in a sog and harvest faster than some autos.

Honestly I don't mind shelling out for known good gear. I keep a mother of the ones I like and never have to buy it again.
