I've only made the one run with the Far Red lights, 1 puck fits a 3x3. under an SF 300w light. I was impressed enough to order 2 more to use in my 5x5. I want to put 3 of them in my 5x5 under 3 - SF300w lights

Definetely lots of learning to do.
i have not used calmag. Just a canna nutrients starter set. I am curious about a silica additive and something to boost flowering and terps.
Cannas boost just says it helps plants absorb nutrients better.

This next grow is 9 plants.
mixing kosher tangie kush-amsterdam genetics, la gran jefa-greenhouse seeds and frosted guava-zamnesia.
I was thinking of getting 10L buckets and drilling holes every inch or so. Or going with 12,5 liter airpots.
My wish is to get that full canopy of buds. I would even go to 16 plants if that would make sense?

So will veg for as long as needed to get a full canopy.
Any idea how long that is? Should i still top the plants?
will dim light or raise it up after 4th set of leaves appear?
Should i also get a new net? The holes seem a bit large to me.

25% at seedling
50% at grow
75% at flower
12” from plant.

I wish i’d get a bit more stretch. Below pictures of last 2 grows.

Theres a window of time where they stretch and don't stretch. First couple of weeks in flower they go vertical. When you flip if the garden hasnt filled out somewhat to your liking then keep the lights low. They will stretch to find a better light source. If you are happy with how the net's filled out then I would recommend going heavy light from the first week on. also the height of your lights is kind of secondary to having a par meter and reading ppfd. Different lights kick off diff ppfd readings. Get a the meter to accurately see where each parts of the canopy are getting light. I just boughta new one on amazon $85

how to handle flower stretch to get nice loong buds?
also when is it time to turn that light to 100% and get as close as you can to the buds?

like all of growing everything you do has an effect on something else. so If you have your lights powerful right from flip and they are cleaned up properly then they will stack way nicer but wont have that vertical stretch you may want. If you let them stretch for the first weeks before you crank those lights up in say week 2 or 3 then you may have more isolated bud sites but they can still grow nice buds. If you want buds that stack nice get that light rippin right from the get go and prune the branches up to the first 4/5 bud sites. The real pro tip is having the par meter and making sure your canopy is as close to 1000 ppfd as you can get.

The plant will stretch naturally during the first few weeks of flowering in witch we try to keep the stretch to a minimum

I really don’t think your understanding what stretchy plants are like
Lanky plants with weak stems and sparse yielding.

Forget the par meter bud get the grow bible

You’ll get more back at this point from reading up than you would from having to deal with another set of variables

You can always get the meter another time

So veg longer with hard light. Flip and go 100%
i think i will end up with them midgets again.
There has to be a sensible solution to getting 6-15 nice main colas and trimming everything else from their path.
Im ordering seeds now so i will then go with 5 each and have 16 plants in the tent.
I just dont like to waste the light or the time. Tent should be as efficient as it can be and thats the reason i was curious about stretching them ladies.
I think i will go with 10L plastic buckets and drill holes every inch or so.
Still interested if somebody has an opinion on silica additive or a terp additive to use with canna nutes.

Depending on size of plant and techniques... my veg process is between 2 to 3 months

1st pic is my plants at around 1 month old...

2nd Pic is as of today at almost 2 months... gonna flip when they are about 12-18 inches tall

The smaller one started late and gonna post an experiment with that on the forum later


Also I forgot to water last night that's why the 1 plant looks sad... she will bounce back

Not so sure what you mean by a hard light however if you mean a full Spectrum light then yes.

When you flip 75% is fine.

If grown normally each strain has a maximum hight it will reach ( unless there’s not enough light )

You can fill out your tent by with training but you have to veg long enough for that to happen it depends how you want back as to how much to how long,

Scrogging will produce smaller plants with multiple heads you just have to tune it in with some lst

There’s various ways to fill the tent you can simply leave them be then they will grow taller or veg for say 6-8 weeks and do some lst

There’s many ways of training super cropping, main lineing and the like

We’ve all been there I remember mths of pouring over books ( before the net ) with all these strange terms like I’d never heard off

I think the confusion lies in, op doesn't want 'stretch' so much as just bigger plants/yields.

longer veg and some LST/HST is the next step @MarkDm

you may specifically like mainlining and super cropping
