HOW TO WATER COCO FOR BEST RESULTS.

hi @Aqua Man . i flipped my plants about 3 days ago . i have kept the same feeding schedule of
0.2 tap water
silica
0.2 calmag ( 0.4 )
bring the nutes up to about 1.5 in total
then add epsom salts which brings EC to 1.6
fulvic acid

now i am flowering do i just maintain this or should i gradually raise nutes depending on how they are looking .

also , a friend has given me a packet of sweet candy and a packet sea k from the greenleaf nutirent line which he didn't want. are these worth using ?

Yeah ratios will stay the same for atleast the first 3 weeks of flower. Then we can see what the plants looks like and go from there

Thanks flor all the information Aqua man is the best guide i never read, i have only one question, you know if i can mix the coco with clay pebbels? I Think is similar than perlite but i dont sure

i don't care about the flush theory anymore regarding taste and they say different brand nutrients can also effect taste i feed now what the nutrient maker recommends also backing off the EC before harvest is ideal i noticed the plant doesn't need a high EC at harvest.

what i like about indica they look the same when at veg but bloom gives a visual variety.

I got a sensi seed banana frosting going 2 x 54w at 650 PAR in the middle with 2 x watering a day its easy in coco i want to do a good size veg this time i got the bar light for bloom

I drop ppm but don’t flush. Most of mu ppm in the last week or so is just mag sulphate.

Hey Growers just doing 1 watering every 12hrs for now i gave my plant a prune to expose the branch growth i should get 6-8 branches and kept the lower leaves and they needed a lift job early in the day.

more pruning to give lower branches some room and light i'll train those branches down soon and still doing 12hr waterings should be a few weeks of veg.

Hey growers, i have been watering every 12hrs and i believe its a bit too often in a 3gal bag as the coco was still too wet after 12hrs i have changed it now to once every 18hrs the pic shows the top coco its a bit drier and the growth speed looks o.k the EC going in is 1.5 and runoff is 1.3.

Its no problem for coco to be wet. In fact, all your doing by letting coco dry out more (if your using straight coco and no organic ammendments) is letting the EC in the media rise. Why do you think you needed to water less? I find that when my plants are droopy in coco, they are thirsty!

I agree, keeping coco wet its a must and temps/humidity/fans can change the evaporation rate of the coco and i understand the watering cycle with in with the new and out with the old but watering this plant every 12hrs was showing leaf droop after watering and i understand that EC will rise with longer watering cycles in coco and my current runoff is a bit less than whats going in i generally grow a healthy veg but in bloom i have had leaf problems due to letting the coco dry out to much i should fix that with this grow.

That plant is lookin healthy af, but I still dont understand the idea of the coco being "too wet". Coco coir has the ability to hold onto oxygen even when fully saturated, so you technically cant overwater coco coir. Overwatering would just be a waste of nutrients, but not have any significant impact on the plant. As you know these girls drink A LOT more during flower. Are you watering 5% of your pot size in water volume and getting 10-20% runoff? Sounds like you probably are with your input > runoff. If it were me I would just give em some more fertigations, just to make sure you arent getting any salt buildup. But thats but, I can be kinda wasteful with nutrients but I get runoff no matter what each watering. I end up watering like 10x a day in a 1 gallon pot of coco.

If you can overwater your coco depends somewhat on the pot size and your coco/perlite ratio.
A large pot with little or no perlite holds significantly more water and may also need a slight dry back, so that enough air gets to the roots.
Go with small pots and at least 70/30 coco perlit and I than would say you can't overwater coco

Yep true that i am considering smaller bags 1 and 2 gal for my next grow but then i will have to water more often what i like about the 3 gal bag i can water a bit less often in veg and its still ok .

Change your watering schedule. Water at light on then again 4 hrs before lights out.

All your watering should be done during lights on in most cases. Plants hardly transpire during lights out and in 3 gal they will go through lights out no problem without watering. IMO you dont water any more at 2 hours before lights out or tey can be a bit wet overnight as i say they hardly drink over the dark period

Yep true that in the past with my grows during summer i didn't have a/c in the grow room and some hot nights during the 12hr light off i reckon my coco was too dry come lights on and the EC rising causing a leaf burn but i got a/c now for hot conditions it makes for less chance of it drying out.
