Hi everyone. I want to add a humidifier to my 5x5 tent does it make any sense using one if the air is exhausting out of the tent? I have a whole house humidifier on the furnace and the house humidity is at 35 % but I want closed to 50% in veg.
Just thought it could be a waste of money if I don't do it right.

Probably wouldn't worry about it in such a small space you should be ok

It depends on the season. In the summer my humidity in the house is in the high 60's so I run a dehumidifier. I have only grown 3 times and this will be my second during the winter months but I remember the humidity in the low 30's at times and mid 40s with the light on. I did notice once my plants got a decent size the humidity climbed but I think this was due to transpiration from the plants.
I think the right RH is around 60% for veg.

Swamp cooler instead. Hook it up so the exhaust fan only comes on when it hits 80.

Not sure if a swamp cooler is right for my climate. I'm growing in the basement the temp is about 17c outside the tent and inside is 25c with RH of 23. Temp outside the house is -8C so its dry and cold.
Not sure what to do just yet but I'm a little worried about my seedlings. Just started a new grow using Coco with canna line.

what about just runnin the humidifier in the room right next to the tent to bring up the whole area?at any rate, this is what I consider perfect veg & flower
Perfect

bump, my room is approx 4x this i've added a humidifier which has done nothing, needing options on next step.

I bought a small humidifier and it didn't do a thing. I turned up the humidistat on the furnace humidifier and seemed to get me into the 30s. I also started misting my leaves with RO.

You seem to have nice looking plants for having your rh so low. I wonder what they would look like with some good humidity. I have been forced once to grow with low rh and I have seen the difference between the two. JK

Yeah I was forced to grow with high rh for my first year and did ok.i just prefer the smoke and easy trimming that I get using lower rh and i can pack my rooms without much worry.for me bigger isn't always better . I can pay all my grow bills and then some with just half of 1 of my smallest plants so the rest is just gravy :)

but i Def appreciate the compliment jk.peace

Initially, you have to choose what kind of humidifier you are searching for - warm or cool mist, or whether a dual unit would be more helpful. In case you're not certain, take in the contrast between a warm and cool mist humidifier to help you figure out what is best for you.

This is right on point for me as well . im really strggling with humidity and temp have a 3,3,5.5 tent running 400 w hps .Trying to stablize the enviroment . but every move i make seems to create another problem . Had to put a heater in witch singed the plants put it outside added a tub with water and aquarium heater added a fan (made it worse) added 2 humidifiers have a sawampy conected but it keeps the temp to low worked good in the tent but not enough room now in bigger pots . sorry about the pics off phone but shows the carnage lol in a sad way :( The bigger two tents dont seem to have this prob , they run at 22c-26c with rh 50%-%60 happily .

Put a swamp cooler in the grow space that way it only recycles the air in the tent and adds water so the air coming out is moist and not much cooler than room temp

@sixstring do you run your seedlings and pre veg ( I consider pre veg up to about ) 1 ft tall . Cause mine seemed to hate anything below 60% grown more mature stuff a low rh as the humidity here is ridiculously low unless it rains . Normal sits in low to high teens .
