I’m SofaKingHigh and this is my grow room

Welcome to my grow room. This is my first grow diary on this site and I’m excited to get it started. This will also be my first run in the new grow room I built. I ended up getting a bunch of free plywood so I put it to good use. I ended up with a 10’x12’ room in my basement. Went through and put panda film on all the walls and mounted my exhaust fan and ran it out the window in the room. I ended up putting a 4 inch intake hole low on the opposite wall of the exhaust fan, I’m thinking this should be enough but if not I’ll add more. I’m at the point where I just have to run the room and see what needs adjusting to dial in the room. For lights I’m gonna run a Mars hydro tsw2000 which is up now and then I’m receiving a spiderfarmer se5000 that I won in the POTM contest last month to put up when it gets here. I have got 6 wedding cake regular seeds germinated and just waiting for them to pop out. I’ll be running in coco and perlite. As for nutrients I did get some greenleaf mega crop and bloom nutrients that I’m probably gonna run or use up nutrients from last grow not sure yet. I’ll post some pics with this post of my room and a few other things and I’ll keep this grow diary up to date as I progress into the grow and beyond.

That outlet is a gfi lol it’s just a adapter on it for more plugs

So a little more info here. I put 6 wedding cake seeds in wet paper towel on 12/7/21. They all germinated and sat until 12/9/21 when planted into coco and perlite. Now today 12/11/21 all seeds have popped out of coco and are looking healthy

First 2 pics are both plant #1 at different stages

here is plant #6 with its shell still holding on. This was the smallest of the seeds and looking good after removing shell lol.

this is how I keep my humidity high for seedlings until it can establish roots

I dont mean to be a critic but that's a pretty big space for that little fan and a 4" intake, no?

Yeah I was worried about that and this is the biggest room I have grown in. I have a 6 inch exhaust right now but I do have a extra 8 inch inline fan I can setup just need to get ducking. As for the inlet it’s a passive with no light leaks. I can add another or go to a intake fan not sure what’s better. I also have to battle my basement being cold in the winter, kinda why I went with a passive intake. What do you think tho, I have limited experience with a room this big

Not really sure how it'll pan out to be honest. Do you have a dehumidifier in there? I'm just thinking when the plants are big it's going to be humid in there and I'd be surprised if the 6" fan with 4" intake will bring in fresh air quick enough. But if you add a dehu, then it will almost certainly get warmer than the fans can handle in there. Just my thoughts. Not really sure though, if you keep just a handful of plants fairly small it might be just fine.

If you intend to fill that space eventually and add more lights then I think you will need at least an 8" exhaust with active intake.

Yeah I don’t have the light power yet to fill the room but someday. I’m gonna try it out and see. It’s very dry in my area and last grow I needed humidifier the entire grow. Granted that was in a tent so not sure if that correlates over to a grow room. Trial and error I guess time will tell what needs to change. I also just received a inkbirdplus air quality monitor so I should get more accurate readings now. I do want a ac infinity 10 inch fan down the road.

Well I got the spiderfarmer se5000 I won from POTM! Even better news it’s the upgraded se5000. So happy about that. Big thanks to everyone that voted for my picture and also to @SpiderFarmerLED for supporting our community and helping give out this killer light as a prize and all the giveaways they do for us. The grow room is coming along nicely as I get things set up in more permanent places. Seedlings are looking healthy and moving along. I’m definitely gonna have to get a bigger humidifier as I can only hold about 30% humidity with the small one I have now. Damn Colorado winters are very dry, without humidifier it’s at like 14% lol

I got some seeds in the mail from @hyp3rids the other day. Very excited about them, I won them in the POTM contest and got to pick 3 of the strains and received free ones on top of that. Also got some buttons lol. The strains are Ace of Haze, Sunday Best, Mauve Couture, and Deep River Haze. I’m super excited for the Mauve Couture, looks like it will have beautiful colors. Anyway that’s all for now just wanna say thanks to hyp3rids for the seeds and look forward to trying out the genetics.

Just thought I would throw up some pics of my last grows harvest. Both plants were bag seeds and yielded a little over 10 ounces plus a few ounces of smaller buds. I plan to at least double or triple that this round.

Nice yeild what’s your grow style? Do you LST or supercrop?

I did mainlining for that grow, topping them 3 times each then just lst. It was my first attempt at mainlining last grow and it wasn’t perfect but I was happy with it. Now I’m gonna try scrog for the first time see how it goes.
