Hello one and all, love THCFARMER. Read new post every day. Well, crispy. How I got there let me explain. Small enclosed room in back of garage I started using just this season for my drying room. Humidity around 50 to 55. Walked in today, and it was 80 degrees, still maintaining 55 humidity level. Not much air flow. Big mistake my friends I know. How can I correct this and bring some life back into my lovely ladies I took so much care for? Or is just a loss?
I am also drying two other plants I placed in there yesterday. They seem to be doing find with the door open and lower temps. Husband tried a bud today, dry, nice high, just really no taste. I will not sleep tonight. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have read ways to do it, I just want to trust you, my experts.

If it’s just crispy on the outside and still moist on the inside, you should be able to jar it up and let the moisture redistribute throughout the bud! If it’s too dry all the way through you can re-introduced moisture, but you probably won’t regain the quality that you might’ve had! I monitor the humidity in my Grove bags throughout the year and when it starts getting down into the mid 50s, I will take a few of those raw humidifying medallions and soak them In distilled water and throw a couple into each bag! It’s a slow process, but it bumped it back up to the low 60s! I think all they are is terra-cotta! But they’re cheap! Good luck with it! Just my two cents!

Thank you Oldchucky. You have been there for me in the past answering my questions, I sincerely thank you for your expertise and your two cents. They are pretty crispy thru and thru. I heard of distilled water on a paper towel and add it to your jar. I will give it a go.
Never tried grove bags, I will look into that.

I’ve never been one for the bovedas! But a lot of people use them! I think there’s more in there than just plain water and I didn’t bust my ass growing organically Just to start adding foreign materials into the finished product! And a little hesitant to use apples, lettuce and all the organic stuff for fear of introducing problems especially with long-term storage! I try to get by with distilled water! Good luck! And tell the old man to just smoke it, get buzzed, and quit being so persnickety!😂😂😂👍 Or he’s welcome to dry the goddamn stuff!

What kind of problems do you think the apple could cause?

I am with you. Distilled water. I grow organically as well. I am a hoverer over my plants. My Kids smoke as well. I trust my grow. Jaring up at first light.

I don’t know. Maybe introduced mold, spores! I just get paranoid using anything but distilled water! But we’re talking one or two years storage here so you have to kind of be careful! Any re-humidification I think has to be done very little at a time over a long period of time! May take a week to raise a bag up two or 3%. Everyone’s got different ways! This is no one-size-fits-all Endeavor! I would probably go with an apple, if I was gonna smoke it up within a month!

Long term here.

Thank you for your explanation. It’s dry here . Even in jars I lose humidity.

I just busted open a bag of my 2022 harvest! It smelled a hell of a lot better than it went in! It’s fun to play with, but you have to watch it and monitor it! A little oxidized, but still potent, and tasty! Considering how long it had been! I didn’t have high hopes! L O L

I have used the bovida packs to rehydrate bud that's a little too dry and they worked great. I usually use them for the first few days to a week after jarring to stabilize humidity. I take them out after rh has been 60 to 62 for a couple of days then take them out. Works great but now you have me wondering what's in them.

When it comes to my weed, I am very distrustful to the point of paranoia! L O L! It’s probably harmless! But unless you pull up the MSDS on it, you really never know! And keeping your weed moist isn’t exactly rocket science! Just have to be A little attentive, every four or five months! If something seems too easy, like boveda, It starts raising red flags to me!

They sell dispensary weed with them all the time. When it was first legalized I thought they were like a silica pack because some little jars were dry and others moist. I didn’t know they were supposed to maintain humidity. I am leaning that are ineffective at some point. A memorable comment and I don’t remember who said it was that it created a pencil lead smell on the harvest.

Yeah, they wear Out! Never dealt with them! But they’re popular! I figure the less outside influence the better! That way, if something is fucked up, I got no one else to blame! No copping out! L O L! Never asked a question about growing here! But I’ve learned a ton!

I've used marijuana leaves. You should have a shit load of those. Oh, and no added foreign smell.

Sounds like a great idea. Being the leaves are dry, do I add some distilled water? What's your procedure if I might ask?
