Thank you. I have retrieved some smell, and moisture back. Left the room door open thru the night; humidity was on the rise and buds rehydrated. Not sure if this is safe against mold but it worked for me. I am opening and closes jars three times a day now.

Hey

Good mornin, looking on amazon for the glove bag you mentioned. Can u tell me which one to look for I would like to purchase some today or tomorrow. Thanks..
Amazon doesn’t have much of a selection! Although I saw where you could get 5 1 pound bags. But you want to stick with the grove bags. Not the imitation ones. I pretty much only use 1/2 pound and 1 pound for storage. I like the ones with the window. You might be ahead to go through the Grove website. Got more choice there but you will get Jacked on shipping! Depends on how much weed you have and how many ways you want to keep it separated. They used to have a first time buyer discount. I don’t know if they still do that.

I will check out the website.

When it comes to my weed, I am very distrustful to the point of paranoia! L O L! It’s probably harmless! But unless you pull up the MSDS on it, you really never know! And keeping your weed moist isn’t exactly rocket science! Just have to be A little attentive, every four or five months! If something seems too easy, like boveda, It starts raising red flags to me!
I’m the same I’ve read too many MSDS’s for products that are supposedly “safe”

Personally the last 2 harvests when I was maybe a day or 2 from thinkin they’ll be done drying I brown paper bagged em for 2 days to redistribute any moisture evenly, I open the bag and shake em up twice a day, after that it’s usually good for the jar, I stopped using the bodivas and TBH I don’t even use hydrometers anymore I burp till they feel right to the hands, (same with initial dry I do have a wood moisture meter I’ll grab sometimes on really dense large buds they have 1 inch prongs I can stick right into the buds to test internal moisture) the. If you think you’re dry enough to jar, break some up, smoke a joint I can usually tell as I’m rollin it if it’s dry enough but the smoke test is key (just my method) if she smokes good it hits the jars if the joint goes out, back to dry longer in the paper bags, I found once it’s dry enough to be able to smoke in a doob good they are ready to jar up

But like was said above, although yours are fully dry, for the future i just keep the paper bags in the grow room now cus I know I’m gunna use em every harvest at end of dry from now on

Might be a misspell here but they are “grove” bags not “glove” 😁

And crazy enough I don’t even see them in Amazon anymore I picked some up there awhile back looks like they no longer go though the zon anymore

I hear you! Experience goes a long ways! A lot of ways to skin this cat! I got one of those wood moisture meters last year! Never took it out of the Clam shell! I better scrounge it up and at least play with it this year! Lol!

ive taken a way over crispy ounce a few times, and thrown a single somewhat fresh fresh, partially but not full dried flower into the bag and left it for a few days closed up.

Ive yet to fail at *mostly* reviving the smell/taste profile of flower, so long as it hadn't sat cracker dry for an eternity or began to actively decarb already. Works better with some then others.

Ive used brovida packs, humidifiers while branches still hanging too, and they work i suppose, but just throwing a single fresh flower into a cracker dry zip in a jar works a whole lot better lol. Like incomparably better. As already mentioned id use a couple fresh leaves too before i tried directly manipulating the humidity with anything but other plant matter.

Hello one and all, love THCFARMER. Read new post every day. Well, crispy. How I got there let me explain. Small enclosed room in back of garage I started using just this season for my drying room. Humidity around 50 to 55. Walked in today, and it was 80 degrees, still maintaining 55 humidity level. Not much air flow. Big mistake my friends I know. How can I correct this and bring some life back into my lovely ladies I took so much care for? Or is just a loss?
I am also drying two other plants I placed in there yesterday. They seem to be doing find with the door open and lower temps. Husband tried a bud today, dry, nice high, just really no taste. I will not sleep tonight. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have read ways to do it, I just want to trust you, my experts.
Definitely get an osculating fan or two. Don't blow directly on the nugs. If at all posibble use AC in that room. It makes a world of difference.

You can take what you have and salvage it. Just jar cure it and start to get the cure. It's going to take a month. Probably smell like hay. After a month you can peal an orange and put the peel inside the jar and keep it there for a week. Take it out and let it sit. If it still smells like hay try to repeat the orange peel thing. I've been there. Shit happens. Great RH but your high temp and no air movement is a mold heaven. The slow dry with an AC is perfect. You can generally do it in a few days. Then right to jar cure.

Thank you. I agree, haven't had the hay in a few years, not looking forward to it, but will carry on. Just a big boo boo, along with a new room, didn't exactly work out.

I had some really crispy ones hanging this year. I had to wait for a good rain and boy did it finally rain after a month or so with none. After first day they were back to where they needed to be to finish final trimming. I gave them an extra day of rain soaked air to be safe. They are in an outdoor building. Kinda like hanging and curing tobacco. Worked perfectly

Kind of what I am currently doing. After the final trim last night, I found only a couple buds that felt to dry or fell apart. Otherwise, checked a few, actually molded them between my fingers lightly, stayed together nicely, rolled one up just last night, everyone loved it. Hoping for no future hay, had it in the past and was able to get rid of. Curing now. Hoping for good luck in the end. My husband accidently left a few hangings outside a few years back. One friend said it lite up his car and had to go in and get his kids from school. LOL. I no longer smoke due to lung issues, but a great hobby and I give it my being, I choose to give it away which is the fun part. All natural grown. Glad you had some luck on your side. I have had top notch advise here on THCFARMER, love to all. Especially to my husband who enjoys smokin all the different flavors.

Thank you. I may just do the paper bag to be on the safe side. Am currently looking into a wood moisture meter that just today I saw on Amazon, thought about a hydrometer, not so sure I am sold on accuracy, the mini would fit in the jar, but inexpensive, thought it might be too good to be true. You all are great, full of knowledge, I am like a sponge.

I'm close to not being able to smoke myself so I'm enjoying it long as I can. Lungs also. You should look into groove bags. They are well worth buying and using. I never use jars anymore. No burping no nothing. Trim it dry it and put in bags. They do all the work.

I buy the 10 packs of hygrometers small enough to fit in jars for about 20 bucks and set them all out together and wait a few minutes. Usually most will be within 1 or 2 points with 2 or 3 way out of wack. I just throw the bad ones away and use the ones that agree with each other.

Thank you, you guys are all great! I just purchased a wood moisture tester. I tested a rather large bud, and it came in reading low moisture on meter at 11.2. Would this level be safe to jar up? Or do you look for lower than 10?

Bringing moisture back won't do much but make them temporarily moist.

There's processes that takes place during a slow dry that csbtbe resumed once too dry.
