Hello everybody !

Nice to meet you, this is gonna be the grow diary of my very first grow ever !

Fist of all, let me say that I'm no English native, nor do I live in an English speaking country.

So I apologize in advance for my English mistakes

On to the grow !

I germinated my Green Crack seed on the 19th of June.

Planted on soil on the 21th after the first root got 1 cm big, and day 22 of June, the first leaves emerged from the soil !

Composition of the soil :
  • 30% PEAT
  • 30% PERLITE
  • 20% VERMICULITE
  • 20% MANURE HUMUS
  • BIOFERTILIZERS
This is Sylvia on Day 1 - Yes, I've named my plant Sylvia :

I started the grow on my balcony.

But after 1 week of growth, my plant was looking like she didn't have enough light.

So I bought a quantum led panel made using samsung leds and 2 settings : 1 for grow and 1 for bloom.

Here are the specs :

Total : 227 leds

I've been using it for 3 days and I feel like my plant is liking it !

My grow tent is arriving between tomorrow and Thursday, I'm anxious to put her in a real nice grow environment.

I also bought some fertilizers :
  • Sensi grow
  • Sensi Bloom
  • Bud Candy
  • Big buds
I was planning on start using them around week 2 of the grow, but I've read people who started using it very early on on this strain.

What are your opinions about it ?

Let's finis this post with a pic of Sylvia at G+8 (8 days after germination) :

After reading for a while, I decided to order a grow tent (80x80x160 cm), an exhaust fan and 2 oscillating fans (1 on top of canopy, on bellow canopy)

As I live in a tropical country, I think the humidity should be good, as well as temperature, but I'll have more information about this later this week, as I've ordered a hygrometer to get those datas.

And for the growing tech, I've decided to try to do a SCROG as I'll just have this plant, I'd like to maximize its yield and fill up my tent with these beautiful flowers !

Eager to learn, share & read your comments !

Any comment, advise or criticism is most welcome :)

Peace

Hello team,

Quick update.

I have a thermo-hygrometer now, which finally allows me to know more about my grow parameters!

Minimum temperature: 23ºCMaximum temperature: 28ºC

Minimum humidity: 48%Maximum humidity: 72%

On average, we're around 25ºC and 55% humidity, which is not too bad. However, there are significant variations between the afternoon and night because the tent hasn't arrived yet.

Here are some pictures of Silvia at G+12:

I bought a soil hygrometer to better judge the frequency and volume of watering.

I've always been afraid of over-watering, so I was watering with 300 ml of water every 2-3 days.

Thanks to the hygrometer, I realized that watering this way was wetting the top part of the pot but not the bottom.

Since I want the roots to develop towards the bottom of the pot, I watered with 1L of water yesterday, and it worked because this morning the bottom of the pot was moist, without being waterlogged.

I took the opportunity to add:

- 1 ml of Sensi Grow (A + B)
- 1 ml of bud candy

Which is 50% of the dose recommended by the manufacturer.

It doesn't seem to have stressed her too much, so I think the next watering will be with the prescribed doses :)

Thanks to those who take the time to leave a message!

Peace

Hello team,

Big news, MY GROWBOX HAS FINALLY ARRIVED.

It was a teenage dream for me, and I felt like a kid on Christmas morning.

I got an 80x80x160 cm box to ensure the little one will have enough space for a magnificent SCROG if all goes well.

150mm Vivosun extraction fan at 320M³/h, dimmed to 20% power.

Two AeroWave A6 E6 oscillating fans from Vivosun as well.

For now, I've only installed one, which ventilates above the canopy.

When the SCROG is in place, there will be a fan above and below the canopy.

As for watering, I haven't watered since the last time because the hygrometer indicates that the soil was still moist, but tonight I think it will be time for a little watering with Sensi Grow + Bud Candy!

Some photos of Silvia at G+15:

In terms of temperature, it's around 22ºC at night and 27/29ºC in the afternoon.

Humidity is at 50-55% at night, during the day it can drop to around 40% or rise to 65% depending on the day.

I moved the LED panel a bit closer yesterday because I felt the little one wasn't getting enough light. This morning, I saw a nice development on its new leaves, so we'll see how it goes.

That's it, let me know what you think! She looks a bit small for a G+15, but hey, I'm not an expert :)

Peace

Hello everyone!

There's a lot happening in the growbox these days!

Silvia is growing at a fast pace, it's a pleasure to see.

The leaves that appeared on Tuesday are well developed, and she's showing us a new layer + another one peeking out!

Here are some photos at G+20:

Conditions in the box:

- Temperature
Max: 23º
Min: 21.9º

- Humidity
Max: 66%
Min: 61%

LST

The 4th node is peeking out, so I'll buy the equipment to start LST in 3-4 days!

Watering

I watered 500ml on G+17, since then no watering because the soil is still quite moist.

Thanks to the hygrometer I bought, otherwise I would have been misled.

I highly recommend all beginners like me to get one. It costs 5$ and prevents overwatering, which is the most common mistake from what I saw analyzing grow journals of newbies like me :

Fertilization

Since I water once a week, I will fertilize at each watering with :

→ 1,5 ml Sensi Grow
→ 1 ml Big buds
→ 1 ml bud candy

When she needs more water and we move to 2 waterings per week, I will alternate (one watering with fertilizer, one without).

That's all for now.

Comments, advice, or other remarks are welcome!

Peace

Oh maybe they are then !

The first time I tried to grow, I almost killed my plant because of over-watering

So now I'm being extra cautious.

But judging by the thinness of the leaves, maybe I should water more...

What do you think @cannafarmer420 ?

Best moisture meter is your index finger never needs calibration and lifting your pots when dry compared to after you water to run off hope this helps

This is the easiest way, ok after the next time you water, count the days until it wilts, water well. Then say it's 5 days before it wilted. On day 4 the next cycle pick up your pot. That will be the weight it needs to be watered. You can repeat as it gets larger if necessary. A light wilt doesn't hurt them at all. Sometimes they have a tell like one of my plants, the lower fan leaves wilt when it's ready to be watered. Reading the plants works great as you get more experienced. How it helps

Hello team!

LST officially started at D+20!

I had bought some clips, but Silvia hasn't grown enough for them to be installed without creasing the leaves.

So, I did it the old-fashioned way with gardening wire.

My training isn't perfect, I'll probably lower the holes I made for the apex to get a more parallel angle to the ground.

Here are the photos of Silvia right after the training, at D+20:

Conditions in the box:

Temperature:

Min: 21ºC
Max: 23ºC

Humidity:
Min: 54%
Max: 60%

Watering:

Only one watering with 2L of water since the last post.

Fertilization:

→ 3 ml/L Sensi Grow→ 1.5 ml/L Big Bud→ 1.5 ml/L Bud Candy

Today, at D+23, she seems to have appreciated the training!

Tonight, I'll try to improve the angle a bit, without her touching the edge of the fabric pot.

Stay tuned!

If you have any tips, advice, or comments, they are welcome! :)

Peace

Hey @AZreefer !

I'm trying to get more light penetration to the bottom leaves in order to develop new branches.

I replaced the wire this morning to try to get a better angle, but it's probably still garbage as this is my first time !

Any tip is welcome :)

Oh cool ! Do you have a link to your grow diary ? :)

Here is a bit of documentation on LST if you want to have a better understanding of this technique : https://www.growweedeasy.com/low-stress-training-lst

I'm probably not doing it right haha

Welcome ,thank you for following it :)

Green crack is one of my favorites as well.

This run started a bit rusty due to sub-optimal conditions during the first 10 days, but now it's getting better hopefully

Hello team!

I have some news. I've done 2 LST sessions on Sylvia twice since my last post.

Here are the photos from the latest LST at D+29:

I'm quite bothered because she is very short and bushy, with small internodes, which gives me little space to train her, and she quickly ends up touching the ground.

I raised my light by 10 cm to try to encourage more vertical growth.

Here are the photos of Sylvia at D+32 after recovering from her last LST:

Conditions in the box:

Temperature:

Min: 21ºC
Max: 28ºC

Humidity:
Min: 40%
Max: 55%

Watering:

2 watering of 2L each since the last post.

1 without fertilizers, last watering with.

Fertilization:

→ 4 ml/L Sensi Grow
→ 2 ml/L Big Bud
→ 2 ml/L Bud Candy

That's all for today!

Tonight, we'll have another LST session to organize these new branches :)

Peace

Hello team!

Sylvia has entered the stretch phase, and her size is visibly increasing day by day.

The internodal distances are getting longer thanks to the lamp being moved further away.

I'll probably continue light training for another day or two so the lower branches can reach the canopy level.

I wanted to install the SCROG net 4 days ago, but the delivery was delayed.

So, the net won't arrive for another 3 days...

In the meantime, I'll double the training to try and contain her growth.

Here are the photos at G+35 and S+2:

Conditions in the box:

Temperature:

Min: 20ºC
Max: 25ºC

Humidity:
Min: 36%
Max: 45%

Watering:

1 watering of 2L each since the last post.

Fertilization:

→ 4 ml/L Sensi Grow
→ 2 ml/L Bud Candy

That's all for today!

Hey Jeff, thank you for commenting here !

I was kinda scared of toping an auto, this is why I didn't do it.

People told me a lot that I should NOT use high stress training on auto, but I see a lot of people do it successfully, so maybe I'll try it for my next grow :)

Yours is an auto as well ?
