Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with my plants after making some recent changes to my setup.

2 days ago, I upgraded my LED panel to a more powerful model.

Soon after, I noticed that the new growth on my plants started showing twisted or slightly upside-down tips on the leaves.

However, the leaves remain a healthy green color, with no visible spots or burns.

Here are the details:

Before the change: Less powerful LED panel, fan at a moderate speed, no apparent issues with the plants.

Recent changes: Installed a more powerful LED panel and adjusted the distance after noticing the symptoms. I also increased the fan speed to improve air circulation.

Current symptoms: The new leaves are showing slight twisting at the tips, particularly on the younger growth. Older leaves are not affected.

I’m wondering if this could be due to too much light intensity, wind stress, or another factor I might have missed.

I’ve already moved the light further away and slightly reduced the fan speed to see if it improves, but I’d appreciate your insights before making further adjustments.

turn the lights down, raise them higher, tweak it a bit

I don't know- auto, lost fans, tired, she twisting not only from light but from treatment too 😉 autos want to go up
Besides that- what is you PH?

Hey @Sunin,

Thanks for your message.

Yes, I raised the light and the fan.

Turned the fan on the second speed.

I use Advanced Nutrient fertilizer with pH Perfect technology, which automatically adjusts the pH of the nutrient solution to an optimal level for cannabis growth.

So I shouldn't need to worry about manually adjusting the pH of the water or growing medium bc the pH Perfect technology should maintain the pH within the ideal range.

I don't think this is a problem of treatment, scrog or smthg else, otherwise she would have developed the symptoms way before.

She was 100% fine and the only thing that changed the last 48h is the light & fan speed, so it must be related to one of these components.

The more information I get from other growers, the more I think this is a heat stress.

Hello, team!

We're on the 5th day of flowering since the pistils started to show.

Several issues:

  • It's been really hot lately, and the temperature inside the grow box is reaching up to 88°F in the afternoon.
  • As a result, I’ve increased the fan speed, which has dropped the humidity to around 25% in the afternoons as well.
  • There are several signs of stress on the plant (tips of the new leaves and upper leaves curling).
But on the positive side, we’ve seen massive growth over the last 4 days:

I’m going to do the next watering without any nutrients to see if there might be an issue with nutrient burn.

Conditions in the grow box

Temperature:

  • Min: 73.4°F
  • Max: 88.7°F
Humidity:

  • Min: 25%
  • Max: 45%
Watering

  • 2 waterings of 0.8 gallons each since the last post, all with nutrients.
Nutrient mix

  • 0.13 oz/gal Sensi Grow
  • 0.03 oz/gal Sensi Bloom
  • 0.06 oz/gal Bud Candy
  • 0.06 oz/gal Big Bud
Next watering: no nutrients.Following watering: 0.06 oz of Grow and 0.06 oz of Bloom.

To be continued.

Looking good bro, reading along. Do you have a way of measuring your PPFD? I noticed you got a new light and intrigued what you’re sitting at right now?

Also, how many fans are you using within your tent? I have 3 in my 3x3 alone. One at the bottom oscilating at the bottom, another at the top and another one directly at my LEDs to keep them as cool as possible.

From the looks, they just seem overheated and possible the light is too close, and too intense. I know you want to blast them with everything your lights got, but gradual increases in intensity are better. Some growers don’t even go over 70% intensity and just leave the lights closer to increase PPFD.

I usually will get 2 waterings a week, one with AN nutrients and another with just water and calmag.

Following along :)

Hey @SchwiftyGrower ,

Thank you for your message !

PPFD

After I lifted up the light and dimmed it to 80%, I'm at ≈ 750 PPFD in the center and 600 in the corners.

Ventilation

I have 1 oscillating fan blowing on the led panel ar full speed

And 1 more underneath the canopy at minimum speed.

I watered them yesterday with clean water, just in case it is nutrient burn

But since Friday it seems to have stabilized...

New leaves still have twisted tips, but the yellow burns have not spread so far 🤞

Thank you a lot for your help and your insights :)

Sup team ?

Since last post I watered Sylvia 2 times with 4 L of water each time

1 watering with clear water
1 watering with fertilizer:

- sensi grow (2ml/L)
- sensi bloom (2ml/L)
- big buds (2ml/L)
- candy buds (2ml/L)

Today I made a the last defoliation, and the most heavy one, because it was a real jungle in my grow tent !

Here are the pics before defoliation:

The light & heat stress seem to be better than it was, I'll still monitor it !

That's all for today :)
Peace ✌️

Wassup team ?

I hope you're doing fine !

We're starting week 11 of this run and things are looking nice

Sylvia is having a massive increase in buds volume & density

For now the buds are still little but I'm confident that they'll grow during next week's :)

I know it's crazy how they regenerate the leaf so quickly. That will slow hopefully as it matures that's when i do another defoil closer to harvest.

Yeah I was thinking yesterday maybe I'd need to do a new defoliation...

What do you think ?

Yes. From this point on I believe you are safe to remove problem leaves a few at a time.
If I remove leaves, it would be leaves from under the canopy I guess, bc the one at the top are already full with trichomes 😱

Hello Team !

It's week 3 of flowering now, Sylvia is still looking good.

The buds aren't fattening up as fast as I would like to see them fattening up, but maybe it's normal.

Let me know if you guys notice a stunned growth or smthg, bc I literally open the tent 5 times per day so I don't see much difference 😂

Well i don't like my temps to be over 82f max and are they drying out between waterings? I never used those products other than big bud once. Pretty dense in the leaf department, watch for PM.

Hey @Galgrows :)

Thank you for your message !

Do you think I shall remove all the fan leaves and just keep the sugar leaves ?

Hey guys,

If you have a little tip on how I should defoliate Sylvia right now, it would be amazing bc I'm feeling a bit lost on which leaves I should keep and which ones I should remove

Is there a rule I can follow ?
