Hi Fidel Castro, much respect to you, i wish i still had the plant, sadly i had to retreat from the growing so lost all the plants that i was running at the time, looking at all these photo's is kind of surreal. The Ghaze was a great plant to grow, it had a real quality to it from seed right the way through, it was easy enough to clone, nice manageable size for indoor growing. Can't remember flowering time to the day but i'm pretty sure that both phenotypes pictured here where between sixty to seventy days, again pretty much perfect. I could go on and on about the plant without mentioning the smoke, even the roots had me astounded, it was like Dutchflowers worked the perfect expression of the cross, the parental selection involved was pretty masterful. Man, the smoke, i was in Amsterdam in October last year and picked up three grams of Haze x G13 from Barneys, the bud tender was like "this is too strong for me", kind of made me giggle, but Ghaze is some powerful smoke, the Dutchflowers description is pretty much spot on, couldn't imagine people passing it up but i can say it's the best i've grown. The shorter phenotype was like a Haze type rush from the first few tokes then you had like a sudden whack from the Indica side of things, it was like the perfect Sativa/Indica high, like a balloon with plenty of balast you just sort of bobbed along just below the clouds, great great smoke. The other phenotype caught me way off guard, i kind of had a preference for the first pheno right the way through the grow, the other plant was like the ugly sister...still beautiful but you know....when she put out the creeper pheno i was pretty much laughing whenever i saw it, kind of like a crazy novelty thing going on then....the smoke was a real ripper, you had the balloon thing expressing the Hazey side but barely any ballast, it was just up, up and away, i remember my first smoke of it left me a sweaty mess, quite extreme, great great smoke but i needed my sand bags to bring me down so focussed on the other phenotype. In hindsight it was the better smoke, another thing i remember from the smoke is that i wouldn't want to puff again for a good few hours, plenty of smokes are great but lack the longevity so they burn up real fast, i was smoking the Ghaze for about a year and i wasn't a big producer. The taste of the smoke was bang on the description Dutchflowers give, a real greasy oily thing going on, i'm not smacking my lips at the memory of it but it kind of matched the high, laying real thick on you.
Hello Wobbly Goblin, yeah, i was very pleased to pick these up, they came as limited release through HS, can't imagine what these would've gone for on C-Bay, i shudder to think. I'm with you on Fet and D-Man not being involved, i'm pretty sure that they got together as the Spice Brothers towards the tail end of the Dutchflowers period, D-Man did come up with some very nice crosses, as did Fet...it's pretty amazing to think that we're seven or more years down the track from the Dutchflowers peak and people are still speculating on who they where, brilliant. Remembered for the plants and not the on-line personalities.
