So looking at these what kind of driver does a person need 72 V ??? and so 6 of them to make 450 watts ???
now does meanwell make a 450 watt driver or 2 225 watt 72 Volt do i need B or C series for dimming now were talking so 3500k 4000k do they make 6000 , 6500 k ??? going to check this web site out maybe order 36 citizens
there are tons of options for 72V cobs
volts are not watts, an HLG-302H-C1050 driver for example has 305V available. you can run 3 100V cobs, 4 75V cobs, 6 50V cobs, 8 36V cobs, etc

the 1212s at cobkits are 36V
the 1818 and 1825 are 50V

OK wondering how would or can it be done having 2 drivers running a unit 450 watts but there Set @ 25 watts have a switch bloom and run them @ 50 watts so literally having 900 watts of Drivers running either 25 watts barely running them and have a dimmer or switch to crank it to 900 watts.
or 50 watts ??? or it can be done having other cobs in there not running on power until i click switch

well you dont need one driver. say you had three 300W drivers. one had 5000 or 6500k cobs on it, the others had 2700 or 300kk cobs on them, each with 6 cobs at a max 50W

veg: turn the 5000k driver all the way up and the other tewo are off
bloom- turn the 3000k drivers all the way up and use 5000k as needed
etc

huge advantage to cobs is you can build any tuneable spectrum you want with as little as just a few chips

Citizen 3500K has the fullest spectrum. No need to mix different CCT COBs.

1212 means 12 dies are wired in series and 12 strings of those 12 dies are wired parallel. Same goes for 1818 or 1825.

the 1212s at cobkits are 36V
the 1818 and 1825 are 50V
Where does the Vero 18 Gen 7's look like on that graph? Dont they beat almost everything except the CLU58 at lower currents for ten bucks a piece? Here are the links to the new Vero Gen 7's and the datasheets.

NO! (Sternly points finger)
If cob leds only last for 3 or 4 years anyway, why pay an arm and a leg.
Cheap chinese stuff works for me and if it breaks you just buy a new one...

If it works for you more power to you. I was just fuckin with you. By the way, those are far from being cheap. Way overpriced.

I would suggest a little research before you did that, but do what you want. Good luck Doc.
I have been running a similar one that I bought from ebay for more than two years. Dense sticky nugs almost two weeks faster than hps, no giant colas but no heat issues either.
Ebay has them cheaper, and they come from the same place...

Thats cool man. Glad they are working for you. I was just trying to let you know you can get some really good deals on high efficient COBs that will grow fat colas and have even less heat. Prices have come down considerably the last few months. Good luck to you.

i dunno ive only tested the vero 29s. the datasheet/simulator for the gen 7s wasnt at all accurate at low currents. the 36V vero 29s run pretty close to the 1818s and the CXBs

those are garbage they sell the same thing on ebay for $80-$120. the one i got only had 3 cobs working out of the box. quality chips will last you a lifetime (well until they are obsolete at least)
