what i found out is just give the plant time. don't try and rush and come to a decision. several times i thought i had a male and then didnt pay attention to the plant only to find out that it was a female. And she was neglected due to my bias.

Too early to tell as stated, i find them fastest on a node or 2 down from the top is usually the first hairs just give it a couple days and you will know for sure growing is a process of waiting don't rush things
