My 2 cents:
If you're around college students, Make friends with foreign students from the 3rd world. Eskimo's have some awesome ruderalis strains and some strains that I feel are not scientifically classified yet, they'll seem to be freaks of nature until you understand what you got and Asian will have strains I have never purchased from seed Co... Asian students come up with some 30'and up tall strains, sativa, and can get taller if you grow with bamboo, its a symbiotic thing... just bend em to the ground and cover mid-plant with soil, the plant will throw roots there and shoots will grow from the barried part of the plant. It hard to control mites at 30' and America's bug will feast on them. And if you meet the rite Mexicans and you speak some spanish they have some ol skool get high strains, freakish strong strains but not quite pure bloods. Also you'll need Great patients and you have to want it bad so if you're crazy like me go to country seed and feed stores and tell em you're racing homer pigeons and need pure hemp feed. 50 lb bags of inert seeds but 1% - 5% will germinate. Incidentally if your trying to get a grip breeding and understanding on DNA and genetic crosses and mutation try breeding pigeons. Pigeon breeders are some of the best geneticist that I know and have great insight on zygosity. Now back to finding pure strain. Some of my best finds have been from small bags of bird feed from super markets that have cannabis seed mix seeds. If you dont want to go thru this pain try World of Seeds, not bad, and about as close as Ive gotten to some ol skool strain but far from purity.
It will help 10 fold to have mastered seed "embryo rescue". Dipped inert seeds that are supposedly inert have mostly dead apical root tips most of the time, dont worry fellow grower the embryo is still alive and if you have "Rescue" skills that are stellar you can save the baby. But all this is lots of work so if you can get access to seed chipper you can DNA each seed to know which ones have what you're looking for before you put 100's of hours of work into a worthless non-heirloom. Until you master embryo rescue do not try splitting the embryo's however once you're able to split embryo's you'll accomplish years of breeding in your 1st propagation. These skill will serve you well if you fortunate enough to handed 1980 or older seeds as after a few years all strain start loosing vigor and will be very hard to germinate if your not at the top of grow game.
So if you dont like spending 1000's of hours of study and breeding pigeons and playing with test tubes, one of the best ways to understand breeding, then you can chuck some pollen at World of Seeds strains.
panama
old seeds are hard to germ
save and label your seeds

Pigeon waste including feathers has been one of my best addition to my compost pile and lots of fun. I have been thinking bout breeding pigeons again. I'm not in school at the moment so I've lost access to cool lab stuff however I was going to try to get some old stuff growing again and will share with you if I find something rare, i'm months away from trying again. I am a horrible procrastinator so PM in a cpl days and pull out some cool "embryo rescue" notes from a professor that is interesting stuff to read and I've never revealed some G13 slides I've found from the university of Miss and send them to you minus some secret notes Ive been saving for my next visit to college. So when I fire up my server in weeks to come, hit me up and you'll get some cool stuff to read and I'll send it to you in a PM... These strains are not very good get high herbs but can add some serious vigor to new strains. In the mean time chuck pollen and read this Farmer site also, there are some better cannabis breeders on here than me.

I have been a novice canna breedin mad scientist for a long time and I always look for fresh unique genes to add a signature or pesto to a new thing
when ya run a lot a seed and stufy the phenol ya start to notice certain genetic expressions in phenos over in over
when I come across something less related to the pool I know cuz phenos I've never worked before start appearing with new fresh terp profiles and highs
The most genetically unique weed I studied so far was a really stringy wild strain of indica given to me by a peace corp member from a hashish farmer
in Kashmir India and a very awesome Oaxaca highland sat a patient I sponsor shared me from family in Mexico . The Zapatac people supposedly consider this particular herb a sacrament
and kept it pure. There are a lot a more genetically unique gear to be had in the deep corners of the globe. Lately I'm looking for some really good original Iranian indicas. I have been hearing some kick ass gear there and I know some the most whacked out good bud I've ever experience was from Saudi Arabia. I've worked a few Iraqi cultivars and one in particular was from Iran I want again.
If I had the money and was able I'd go to the middle east and study all there highland races really close.

I have a horrible online personality and that hurts me when it come to breeding. Networking is one of the most important parts in finding genetics for breeding and networking is my downfall that impairs my skills and I can tell that you have been exposed to rare dankness. The real g13 will most likely never surface again and be reBorn cause human created GMO's rarely replicate with out further test tube remodification to recreate the human GMO... I'm still waiting for the next human to be born with the original halo, but until then dont be stash with armpit funk...

ya but newsflash most folks in some circles know the truth about g13 and it was born in bred down south by a good ol cat that's still alive well and kickin and how it gotin gov hands from the university he shared with through business is most a mix a urban legend

anyone thinks they know g13 better than my bro Gordon is flat out a lil bit stoned
but that's ok too
it aint no gmo testtube strain that's a silly foil hatter's pipe dream bro

Yeah the real G13 is hard to come by, it's in the same league with RKS and Monkey Paw far as I'm concerned ...I'm sure somebody that doesn't spend time online is still crankin' em out though. '88 G13/Hp is special to me, it's got proven breeding potential though it's not a "pure" strain it's a nice place to start! I have some older stock beans I plan on poppin' next year, all hybrids but they're worked hybrids.

Monkey Paw was one of the 1st really potent strains I smoked on when I started back in the daze, it wasn't until a few years ago when I mentioned it online that I found it was more so local to MI. I used to smoke this around '87 - '91/'92 but I haven't seen it since ....I think RKS helped it fade out a little cause that came through here before and stayed around longer than the Paw did, atleast where I was. The Paw probably went by something else in another area of the country or Canada though so it could still be around!

heck ya not trying to do anything but contribute my part to a thread I thought was interesting guys
be glad to tell ya about my Kashmir indica project just not my name for it and no I am not sellin or sharin any the clone seeds or flowers right now at all but local

well I was a care giver a long time ago
about 12 years or so back I sponsored a very sick gal with chemo
and it helped her tons as it usually does I got a cut that is special for chemo

well her teenager daughter was in the peace corps n brought me 18 seeds back in her shoe
they were very stringy ugly lil 4ft or so plants and had a very wild undesirable profile and weird ass popcorn nugs all over kinda ropey in ugly really kinda sativa lookin for an indica
but they had a very unique terp profile to them with a very astringent sorta citrus coca cola taste I had never or still have never tasted before
so I bred it to a few different of my projects to make a better more domestic plant that still got that nutty piney citrus cocacola taste
but I discontinued workin the pure cuz it was too dang wild for an average grow room and it was obvious someone just grew fields of this bud for hash

now my sacramental Oaxacan? Well hint hint all ill say is its a big part the genetic backbone of my haze Ill be sharin more pics of it is amazing and it is really hard to find
a good HIGHLAND sativa anymore Im thankful to the Zapotec people for keepin her real mad respect

Thanks for sharing. was just curious as I said I just got some beans from same area. didnt know what to expect.. seems like you are having a bad day. there is always tomorrow. I wish you the best.

Ive been on the boards way to long lol. I learned not to argue online. its like being in the special olympics. win or lose your still a retard. with that said. best wishes and lets let the thread get back on topic. .. wait.. what was the topic again? lol
