Watched it this weekend, and it was great. I liked the dark side to his writing like Me and My Uncle, Jack Straw and Hell in a Bucket.

You might come off as less of 'typical bobbie fan' if you gave BARLOW the credit the deserves,......while bob could hold Jerry's briefcase as a band member he certainly could not hold his jock as a musician.

Sorry I like Bobby way better. Does that make me a huge ass?
Liking Bobby way better didn't make you a huge ass...

The vast majority of Grateful Dead songs:
Weir > Music,
Barlow > Lyrics;
Garcia > Music--
Hunter Lyrics...

The Reuben & Cherise on page four of this thread was epic! Thanks smoking gun.

Just so happens I am wearing one of two Jerry Garcia t-shirts at this very moment.

Out in front of the crowd he could work the band, and he'd really get the audience going. He always had more nerve than I could believe. He'd get the audience on his side, and he'd pick somebody out (like a heckler) and get on them... He was the guy who really sold the band, not me or Weir. Pigpen is what made the band work.” - Jerry Garcia —

This June marks the 41st anniversary of the release of Garcia (Compliments), Jerry’s second full length solo studio album. John Kahn produced the record and selected the material for Jerry, with the exception of "Russian Lullaby" which was Jerry's lone selection. In addition to the eclectic mix of covers, Compliments also features some of the most in-demand LA session musicians of the 70’s including Merry Clayton, Ron Tutt, Larry Carlton, and many others. Listen to "Let's Spend The Night Together" from the album here: http://bit.ly/1KGSm3r

A newly remastered version of Compliments is available on 180gram black vinyl via the Official Garcia Store: http://bit.ly/1eNKhjg
