I went out and bought some actinovate today and am gonna spray them and soil drench. Hopefully I can stop the bud rot from spreading. It's so shitty seeing ur biggest best colas biting the dust.

Thank you and sorry to hear that. Maybe you should do a bud wash with very dilute peroxide. I'm going to do it so I don't get any mold or mildew. Check out Cervantes' video on bud washing.

...though I wouldn't firehose them like that. But it has been proven to help against bud rot after the bad spots are removed with little or no damage to the trichs.

Here's some info I found in the Cannabis Enyclopedia for another person with rot. Maybe it's something you don't know about yet. I hope it helps.

SmithsJunk said:
The Cannabis Encyclopedia by Jorge Cervantes (c)2015, says...

"Sprays of calcium silicate (Ca-silicate, 2,000 ppm, a sealant for concrete and egg shells), (California) calcium bentonite (Ca-bentonite), and calcium formate (Ca-formate, 2,000ppm) provide effective control of fungi and are safe alternatives to highly toxic fungicides. Potassium bicarbonate, baking soda, changes the pH of the surface of the foliage it contacts. Botrytis cannot grow there."

It also says to use alcohol sterilized scissors to make the cuts. I don't know how effective this is when Cervantes, is shown in a picture on the same page ashing a bud on a plant with a torch. LOL. I hope this can help. If anyone want's to weigh in on this answer, I am always up for learning more so I can fight it if it ever comes for my plants, and it does show up where I live, often.

This book has been an "ok" resource, but somewhat incomplete. (My review so this picture & excerpt does not constitute copyright infringement.)

ROFL

I'll be busy working on the electronics for next year's hydro garden and this winter's indoor grow. Can't stop now.

If we are as local to each other as we think we might be able to accommodate that.

Yup, still feeling the fan leaf trimming today. Cervantes says to harvest in the morning. I'm not a big fan of that idea, the buds are more plump in the afternoon but I'll take potency over weight any day of the week. Especially harvest day!

Going to put a few drops of dawn in my fiver with water to drop the mite infested fan leaves in when I trim them today. No real resin production on them with this strain so no hash loss.

Here are some general pics of the Creamsicles to do before and after shots. Gonna reveal their goodies. They're so densly packed I don't know if it will make much of a difference.

I am not a fan of this new forum layout. I guess it's alright on the computer but it's absolute sh*t for my mobile phone. Got rid of that annoying chat head that kept sending me to an advert every other sentence and replaced it with scroll buttons that keep sending me to the top or bottom of the page all the time as I proof, edit, or try to start a sentence where they hang over. They'd do much better on the left or somewhere they are not hanging over the dialog box. ...and, my awesome black background is gone. This white is too blinding. It's not going to chase me off or anything, I just had to gripe. Now I'm done.

...well, almost done. WTF is happening with Photo of the Month. The thread is locked and it's the 5th with no posts as to when we should come back to vote. I know it's a courtesy, and I appreciate that, but we are invested as well. A little consideration would be nice.

OK, now I'm done. Irritation vented.

After 9-10 hrs of trimming fan leaves I'm burnt. The rest will have to wait till after the cut. Can't reach the ones by the fence anyway.

It was very satisfying drowning so many of those little bastards in the soapy water. At least I cut down the population a bit. Get rid of most of the rest tomorrow. Gotta get to Kmart and pick up some 3% peroxide and bins to wash and rinse in for tomorrow.

I have a new cheapie scale on the way. My good $600 trade legal scale I lost in the divorce. I'll get one again soon. I won't be able to give fresh cut weights on this part of the harvest but I will on the second cut and the Kush, maybe. I kind of don't want to know wet weight because it will only shrink from there. Better to know their dried weight as the only one.

Sure you get a little bummed cutting it down, but you get happy when you see it in the jar! I stuck my urkle in jars today. (just the larfy stuff and medium buds. The big buds are still drying) It smells killer already. The little jar on the right is the bubba larf.

I do 3 buckets. 1 bucket of warm water with baking soda and lemon juice. Next bucket is cold water. 3rd is RO water. Then I blow fans right on the buds for 8 hours.

...but they look so small in jars. Lol.

Very nice. Honestly, I'm more than ready. If it weren't for the mites and the cost of feeding during flower I wouldn't mind them growing year round.

I'm going to keep it simple. Just a very dilute 3% peroxide in water and a pure water bath for a rinse. Can't remember the ratio of peroxide off the top of my head but I'll post it up tomorrow after I look it up again.

I get the baking soda and lemon but often, less is more. I don't see any reason to add anything else when peroxide is plenty effective. Maybe if I had mold/midew I'd add the baking soda but I'm not adding something like lemon that can change the flavor.

Trimming is something I actually know and am pretty proficient at. I just go into robot mode like today. Would have been done if I had better access to my girls. Having to reach over a 5' plant to trim fronds made it very tedious. I will trim everything but sugar leaves before it dries. I don't like working with wilted weed.
