That's my problem with both first person shooters and driving games. No real area awareness in FPS and I'm way more accurate in real life and no force feedback in driving games. Give me a controller and I'll just crash into the side walls and finish last. Give me a force feedback wheel, on the other hand, and I'll stomp everybody around me.

I got Vermintide through humble bundle monthly so I only paid 12 bucks and got 6 or 7 other games with it but even then I was really disappointed it was online only as well. I run on satellite so my latency is between 650 and 1200. I can run in on a FPS and blow the room away with head shots and when it catches up I actually got knifed shortly after entering the room.

Looks like some decent bud by the way. Let me know how it smokes.

That sh*t knocked my happy a$$ out. Tried to get to bed after smoking a tiny nug, woke up an hour later sitting on the side of my bed and had only managed to get one sock off. No sooner was my second sock off and was out again till a few minutes ago. Excellent bedtime herb.

It is a bit harsher than the first harvest. I didn't wash the second harvest and it's a noticable difference in flavor. Still tastes great though and a week+ cure will mellow its harshness.

One thing to note, letting the trimmer bowl get it this tight definitely kiefed the bud. So I wouldn't suggest 20-30 revolutions if you plan on trading the buds.

Nvidia just sent me an email about the new Titan Xp special editions. They're running $1200, which really isn't bad considering what they are.

This is the coolest special edition I've seen yet...

I bought the whole GT racing setup in June to use in VR. When I tried to use the Logitech G920 the pedals were mapped wrong. Instead of clutch/brake/gas it was brake/gas/clutch. A firmware update removed the ability in it's software to remap the pedals. I don't know what f^ckin moron came up with that idea but even in games that allowed to remap the pedals it was impossible to calibrate the pedal feedback and pressure sensitivity. I think even the shifter was mapped backwards. I sent the pile of sh*t back and said f^ck GT racing for now.

I kept the stand because I wasn't willing to pay the shipping back to Glasgow. I figured I'd try it again eventually but with a Thrustmaster wheel. It really bummed me out because Logitech made the nicest wheel, leather was cool, and the force feedback was excellent. I might use the base for a full blown HOTAS flight simulator rig I can use to play Microsoft Freelancer and Battletech/Mechwarrior (when the new game is out). Now, Battletech in VR is the kind of sh*t I've been waiting for since I was a little kid.

I got looking into getting my own wheel setup a few years ago and that model there was the best I could find that wasn't 1200 dollars. In the end I wound up finding some people that had replaced the guts of that model with better equipment because they liked the feel of it but not the way it worked. I'll likely just never buy one because I don't play many racing games as is.

And yeah, battletech in VR would make my seat wet and I'm a dude. What really makes me look forward to VR future though is things like augmented reality modifications and more than anything; exploration games. I want to go exploring down the amazon or through an alien desert. No man's sky doesn't count. That game is literally the most ruined version of that I can imagine. NO random generation crap. We have supercomputers Ryzen and X299 are off the hook powerful with an insane amount of cores. I think the limit for silicon is 7nm. Intel hinted they are already working on something smaller with new materials. The fact that they continued the next series with the same 14nm as X99 tells me they're trying to slow the rollout of the new 10nm architecture until AMD can catch up. Why go smaller without competition. Only Nvidia has continued it's progress into the smaller architectures and because of it they are leading the way in AI, not Intel (mostly being used for scientific research and compiling market data). I also hear that someone is working on tactile feedback. That will be sick. True touch interaction in VR.

Like I said before, Robo Recall, really showcases what VR can do. Fallout 4 VR is going to be awesome. I just hope I dont have to buy the Vive to play it. I'm really looking forward to motion tracked controllers in an open world/FPS. I wish Nier Automata was VR with motion tracking.

...and I am looking for a way to play Microsoft Freelancer in VR. Truly the best space game ever made, even in it's current single player format. The original online version wasn't cellular like this incarnation. You could use jumpgates but it wasnt a requirement to enter/leave a system. The original map was monstrous. Instead of using cells it buffered as you entered new zones. I haven't seen a modern space game come close including the single player version. Try the crossworlds mods. They are only a few years old and upgraded the graphics. The Star Wars mod was never completed. Waited a few years for that until it's design team bailed with no warning.

Man, Freelancer would be awesome. I played the hell out of Starlancer on the dreamcast back in the day.

Really though games like that will make people suffer from motion sickness no matter how good the headset is simply because of all the movement without it being simulated. Without full body motion simulation games like that will be hard to make popular without some sort of other revolutionary development in the field.

They've got motion simulators of course. They just cost 20-30 thousand.

If you end up having a problem with motion sickness upgrade to a more powerful graphics card. Higher framerates alleviated a lot of that problem unless you are already prone to motion sickness. GTX 1080s are getting really affordable. My current GTX 1080 is plenty capable of high enough framerates that I have yet to experience any motion sickness. That wouldn't mean anything if it wasn't for the fact that I get car sick and sea sick when I don't keep my eyes up. My nerve dystrophy also causes me to be unstable and I've lost my balance more than a few times while in VR. My first experience was an old Macintosh computer with that game where you drop a guy from a helicopter into a horse drawn hay cart. Probably more imagination than graphics at that point lol. I fell out of PC gaming after high school when I couldn't find time or money to keep playing. I loved it tho. Major World of Warcraft addiction for a while. Always wanted to build a computer for gaming that could compete with those Alienware comps. I've swap RAM and graphics cards and what not, but that was pretty much the extent of my computer building.

Alienware are overpriced, underpowered, Dells. If you want a prebuilt proprietary system like a Dell then you would get more for your money with an XPS. But I'd recommend against proprietary and go modular. Very little can be done in a Dell or HP type machine. They weren't made to be upgraded. They are made with cheap parts and often are little more than laptop motherboards in a big box. In fact some of them actually have laptop motherboards.

Tell me what you want to use it for and how much you want to spend. I'll send you a couple parts lists. I am partial to Intel and Nvidia, but if you need it super cheap then AMD Ryzen has plenty of power. I'd still stick with Nvidia graphics cards though. Of course starter enthusiast machines can be built cheaply (around $2k) with a few snips here and there, depending on where you want to make sacrifices.

This whole grow thing works out and maybe I'll just be able to have you build me one lmao! It would be a lot of fun to put one together for myself, but I'm notorious for starting too many projects to realistically finish haha That's a great starting point for me to look into what I want vs. what I can afford tho. I'd be a lot closer to what I want tho for the right price if I built it myself. Don't know if I have the know how anymore. I'd have to watch a lot of YouTube videos lol

Right now you can put a 6 core AMD, a 4 GB Nvidia graphics card, 16 GB of RAM, a 500 GB SSD HD, a futureproofed motherboard, a power supply, simple case, a DVD reader/writer, a keyboard, and a mouse for around 750-800 and it will run everything there is out there except VR.

It may not run the latest games at 100% full settings but it will run all of them and will run most of them very near 100% expect for the real hogs. It also won't be futureproofed for the most part but with a good motherboard you can upgrade later if you want or buy a cheaper one if you intend to rebuild totally later.

It won't run 4 screens at the same time or 4K either but it will blow any console you throw it at out of the water in terms of what it can do graphics wise and is generally more useful and capable.

I built a rig like the above for a friend and he's pretty happy with it. Running all of his games at 100% except for ones like GTAV and some of the newest games out that can take more than 4 gigs of graphical memory. Running a similar machine, only a little better, that I built 7 years ago for roughly 1500. It's only got a 2 gig graphics card in it at the moment but it runs everything I want to play, just not at full settings.

That's okay though, if I was actually worried about the best graphics I wouldn't be dropping 800 or 1500 or even 3000. I'd be dropping at least 10K to build a dream setup. So rather than go for broke just to have the top of the line thing for all of 20 minutes I'll stick to my 800-1500 dollar builds.

It took me about 10-12hrs to build my first modern machine last year. I can do it in under an hour now. Except for my X99 Raven, it took 10hrs because I installed an extended ATX motherboard in a standard ATX case, had to modify the front cover to fit both a 140mm fan and a 120mm graphics card radiator, then cleaning up the wires (wire management). I only consult and build locally. Putting together a compatible parts list is the hardest part, but like I said, I'll mail you a couple if you give me a price range and what you use it for (ie, 1080 or 4k gaming, VR, home theatre, etc...). A lot of builders are so budget minded they build from the bottom up looking at fulfilling minimum gaming requirements but I build mostly high end machines so I do my builds from the top down with a focus on quality components and performance before price.

This will be my last post regarding puter builds on this thread, at least for a while. I've hijacked it enough with this subject don't want to chase off people looking for the grow. If you want build advice shoot me a mail and send you those list and answer any questions you may have.

I just finished up trimming my last lb yesterday evening. So I have nothing to post for now. I continued with the alternative subject matter because I've needed a distraction from what is going on. My cousin, who I grow with and who's property I live on, is in what I'm pretty sure are his last days. The stage 4 cancer finally caught up with him, the tough bastard. Everything is up in the air right now so if I come across somewhat serendipitous regarding my future growing intentions it's because I have no idea what my future is going to look like, even only a few months from now. The weak (nonexistent) wholesale market screwed me because this harvest was supposed to be my nestegg. Now I'm sitting on 5-6lbs of herb that is useless until/if the market dries up a bit. Where I live housing is very expensive and people on disability don't qualify for rentals without subsidies. Unfortunately I can't put "hustle" down as an income source, lol.

So, thank you everyone for the distraction.

The only suggestion I have for the long term is to turn it all into wax so it's easy to transport and doesn't lose too much quality if it has to sit for a couple seasons without a proper place to cure it. That is if it all goes to shit.

I had something similar happen a long time ago. Was 5 weeks into flower from clones, had clones vegging, had another round of clones taken in a perpetual DWC. Things went to hell with family in the location and long story short it all came down and I lost some of the best genetics I've ever personally grown and wound up with a TON of weak bubble hash.

Thank you. I understand the nature of "likes". I appreciate it. He's handling it like a champ, I'm really impressed. We're both Christians and pragmatists so we're not afraid of death much, but still.

If he goes and sh*t goes sideways and we can't cover the bills, I figure we have roughly three months from the last house payment. At least that gets me through most of winter and I can squirrel up more than a few grand in $$$. I'm pretty good at hustling up cash but not enough that it wouldn't wipe me out if I tried to help keep this property. Plus I can't consistently maintain that level of cash flow.

All my first cut is dried and curing in vacuum sealed mason jars with 58% Boveta packs. As long as I'm vigilant at keeping them sealed they should last at least a year. If I can't get rid of them by then, I shouldn't be growing. Probably still going to buy the small rosin press. Extracts move better than flower around here.

Same here, I think this is true of most places in the US right now. Shit maybe even Europe.. The guy I get my oil from doesn't even carry flower anymore. It wasn't worth it for him I guess, didn't get rid of it fast enough. Besides you can take a multi # stash like yours and reduce it down to something that could fit in a back pack. Less smell, overall more incognito. My plan is to blast or press whatever I have left from my last harvest as soon as I pull down my current room. :ninja:
