That's cool. They've really gone down a lot this year. I saw rigs like your's for $1200-$1500 last year. They are really nice and a perfect storm of top notch equipment. Two of these COBs can grow three plants. It's the spectrum on the new Cree that's making it work and the right diffusers. I haven't used them yet but I've seen reviewer pics.

I'm going for 4-6, but I needed 1-2 for the seedlings and couldn't afford a whole array.

I would love to do one plant in a tent with like four or five of these single 100watt Cree units. Put one or two on top then three or four around the sides. That would be a crazy thick plant.

Just ordered a 40x24x60 grow tent. Would've gotten bigger but I only have 63" of clearance where I'm currently setting up and I couldn't find any with a wider footprint at under 72" tall. This one had all the options I wanted at under $60 (double draw string vent ports in various sises, removable tray, viewing window, adjustable hangar bars, tool-less connectors, "D" door instead of split double doors that are hard to close).

Also ordered two sets (2x2) of ratchet hangers for $9.

The HVAC booster fans normally used for this, I think, have an unreasonably excessive power consumption. I'd rather use a lower powered computer fan for a constant flow of air than letting the air go somewhat stagnant then replacing at intervals with big bursts. PC fans can be run with a USB adapter and a 1.1a AC wall charger. Might have to modify your own adapter or buy a Thermaltake USB desk fan with one that's already done. Drawback to the desk fan is it uses a high flow fan and you'll need static pressure fans if you want to use a filter/muffler. The static pressure fans are built to be able to push/pull through radiators. A more aggressive blade will probably be loud and inefficient due to cavitation or just plain burn up if connected to a filter/muffler. I'm starting with an unfiltered system running indoor air over my seedlings so the Thermaltake desk fan will work for now. It has a reostat on it for speed control that I might cannibalise for use on my static pressure fans. When I shift to outside air and get ducting and an intake filter to keep the dust and pests out, I'll switch to either the 200mm or a push/pull on either end of the filter with the two 140mm NZXTs. I may use the Noctua 140mm hooked to a thermostat to regulate heat dissipation, but I doubt I'll need it with the lights I'm using and constant airflow.

I'm really excited to start making mistakes on my first real indoor grow. If I'm wrong and being presumptuous with my ideas, feel free to correct me all you veterans (novices are welcome to comment too, it just didn't ring like "veterans"). Everything I'm doing now is based on what I've read from other people's experiences or my own (sometimes erroneous) theories. My grow log is not sacred, I'm here to learn.

I used to use computer fans in all my cabinet grows. They work great.

Did you hook them to a PSU or run them off USB chargers, or another way? I thought the PSU powered ones seemed a little counterintuitive if you want to conserve power.

I just wired the 2 pin adapter straight to a 14 gauge extension and ran it on 110. I think I still have one. If I can find it I'll snap a picture. I won't be home till the afternoon but I will look then

You are you talking about a USB adapter right? Those are 12v fans. I'd think if you hooked one directly to AC current it'd explode.

No USB adapter not sure what my fans were rated at but they ran strong. Maybe I got lucky but I never burned anything up. I'll try to dig them up when I get home.

I couldn't find the extention wire but here's the old cabinet I used with the input fan. I have the exhaust on the other side towards the top. I haven't used this cabinet in almost 30 years. I'm storing camping gear in it and some other stuff. If I ever find those cords I'll put up pics but you probably won't want to try it. I was probably dumb for doing it but I had no problems running these on 110v. I picked them up at a supply house that had all kinds of these things. I don't even know what they came off of. Maybe they are supposed to be run on 110 for all I know.

Here's what I have in there now. I'm actually doing a seed run because I have enough smoke to last me till my next outdoor harvest. Seeds will be Berry Bomb with the Somango XXL and the Blue Mystic.

Huh, sure looks a lot like a computer fan. But it does look heavy duty, with super aggressive fans. Probably is a 110v.

Yeah it might not be a computer fan. It sure moved a lot of air. The tent is a 96L X48W X78H I'm running 2 315 31K Phillips CMH. I have another 315 that I'm using outside the tent to keep a Big Bud clone in veg. I'll probably add it to the tent in my next grow.

Yeah I think you're right. The Chinese make them and the distributers sew their patch on them. Wonder if Trump is going to slap a tariff on these babies. The tents are good quality. Heavy duty stitching and zippers no construction flaws and that tent cost me about $150. I did reinforce the hanging supports because they weren't sitting perfect on the cross bars but that just took a little duct tape.

Yeah, those cmh lights blow away the mh and sodium lights I used to use. I'll stick with these for a while.
