All in all, just an okay year. Lost 2-3lbs of the biggest colas from the Uzi Cookies and Blue Magoo to water mold (botrytis). I lost a few half colas last year to it but was nothing like the plague this year. I figured out it was likely due to the idiot my cousin let grow in the greenhouse next to my garden. He brought hay in to cover the mud because he started before the ground dried out in spring. The mold multiplied in the moist environment then spread spores when it dried out. After that he had a cannabis aphid infestation that he never took care of. Being only a few feet away, with a large greenhouse exhaust blowing over it, my garden was coated with spores and kept getting reinfested with aphids that weakened the buds to the bot. Then a few early rain storms came through, and bam, botrytis everywhere.
This won't be a problem next year because I'll finally be taking over the greenhouse. So far I don't have the scratch to bring in all new dirt for both gardens so I'll be treating the soil this winter with anti-fungals and possibly nematodes. The previous bot shouldn't be much of an issue since I use preventative care and don't let infestations get out of control. Botrytis is everywhere here, just like spider mites and broad mites. There's no way to destroy it/them all.
I've trimmed the Uzi Cookies, Blue Magoo, and Banana Crack for a total of 5.25lbs. My estimate is the Kashmir99 will be around 2lbs, the Death by Kush about 1.5lbs, and the Jack Herer 6-8lbs. I'm pretty bummed about losing several lbs to Bot cause I wanted to beat last years yield but it's still been a good garden with a large output of quality herb. I didn't get that killer belgian waffle pheno from the Banana Crack this year, instead it had a sharp citrus smell. I think it may have crossed with the Chocolate Orange Creamsicle, that would explain its slightly fluffier buds. Looking forward to tasting the fully cured Jack Herer. It's got a very interesting scent. Unfortunately, I don't think I got a Jack pheno with that high concentration of THCv but I can tell it's still a pretty "uppy" herb from the test smokes.
This has been a rough year for all of us here on the property. I've been very ill (finally turning a corner for the better, I think), my cousins widow is not doing very well with his loss, and we were both screwed over by the moron my cousin had growing the greenhouse. He was supposed to give her 50% of the yield and we're pretty sure he shorted her a good chunk of his sh*tty harvest (12lbs total from 40 plants the first dep run and she only saw saw $2.5k. We fully expect her to be shorted on this run as well but we're glad to finally be rid of him.) She'll probably get as much from her 50% of my 6 plants as both runs from the greenhouse. I'm doing 6 more big plants in the greenhouse next year (to keep it 100% within county regs) and am really looking forward to what can be done in there with no idiots contaminating my crop.
