I heard Sigourney (sp?) Weaver on Letterman last night talking about how it took something like 47 hours of labor for each 1/24th of a second (the length of a single frame) of the rendered sequences.

I went in one of the first nights with no expectations (3-D!) - they hadn't advertised the shit out of it yet or received the first box office results, so I was absolutely stunned. I love it when I go into a great film like that without expecting anything!

wasnt a fan, didnt think it was visually stunning and the story was god awful. Not to mention that Cameron is a pompous jerkoff with a preachy political agenda. Just had to vent a little... sorry if you liked it. Watch District 9 if you havent seen it. Blows avatar out of the water.
