Hold on I think I have that same statue! Maybe 2 of them? I'm not kidding it's somewhere in a box in my attic, it was my grandmother's. I'm sure I have it what's the significance of it?This is for anyone who thinks they may need a boost.

Actually I have this piece too and it's very old, the price is I'm looking at is crazy!? Not interested in the Buddhist aspect of it just the monetary value and I have that, thanks for pointing it out!

Kuan Yin is a Boddhisattva, which means she chose to keep one foot on the ground so she would always remember what it was like to be human. She is the Goddess of Compassion and Mercy and is an Ascended Master. Plant people should have her. :)

Edit: I can't find a Maker's Mark and the other pieces are somewhere put away the value they have to me was they were left to me by my late grandmother whom, I'm now thinking may have been a Buddhist? Very interesting thanks for the info

That statue is Kwan Yin, aka Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, aka the god/goddess of compassion (there was actually a gender change somewhere along the way).
In Japanese it's Kanzeon.
Edited to add a footnote: Deities in Buddhism aren't really worshipped per se, they're more reminders of goals. So god/goddess isn't really the right word, but I don't know of a better one.
