On full up close, yes they would be. But dimmed down or further away, not at all.
These come with a dimmer. So you can easily adjust it to an appropriate light level.
Are these Kingbrite overkill for growing lettuce, herbs, peppers, and tomatoes in hydroponic? Do I need the Red, IR, or UV? I live in Texas, so can't grow the good stuff yet. I know I'm in the wrong forum, but you guys seem to know more about lights than the lettuce growers. Thanks for your time.

Must be due to dhl shipping. I almost chose dhl but their shipping details were very vague online about delays so that's why I chose ups. We will see when it arrivesI ordered on 8th. Says package on hold, hoping that means customs.

I ordered their new board and was told ups hasn’t picked up the orders after the 10th and asked if I mind paying the upcharge for DHL and that DHL is the only one moving. I ordered lights from Shenzhen Kingbrite Lighting Co., Ltd. on March 25. I got tracking info for this UPS Worldwide Expedited package on March 26. I dealt with Vivi Liu and she emailed me the tracking info without my asking. The same day it left Louisville, KY, it was delivered at my door (700 or so miles from there).
