day 12

church strain

350 ppm
5.8 ph

room temp 78
room humidity 50%
res temp 66
co2 ppm 1500

so far so good i got some twisting in the leaves nothing major so i lowered the temps to 78. i dont think its from p.h. flux i havnt had much of it. i still got the sick looking one ill give it 2 more days then pull it and try to replace it.

i can already tell this stain does not like high ppms its getting some minor leaf tip burn at 400 +/- ppm.

I see your still running 1500 ppm co2 - you are wasting money big time on that and not doing your plant any favors - you could be hurting them in fact

you really dont want to pump co2 til your plants are healthy and growing vigorously - I dont see the kind progress in your room that indicates you should be using supplemental co2

are you hand watering that limp lifeless plant yet?

sorry I get frustrated real fast when people say they need help/advise and then dont follow or try the obvious suggestions that are given

yea i have been hand watering the sick plant with some r.o. water and ultimate thrive and foliar spraying it with as well. its roots are growing down into the water for some reason its got some lock out going on so im just gonna pull it in the morning and replace it with a new lady.

i noticed jack says he tops everything should i top these ladies and if so when during vegging is best?

I top, twist, bend and slap everything. I do it regardless of what medium is used. It's up to you when and what stile you use.

In my garden your plants would get the first pinch on the top today.

I also bend when they get bigger. Bend it back and forth like you would copper to soften the tissue in the branch. Here is one I did today:

P1090036

It'll recover nicely by tomorrow or the next day at the latest.

by pinch you refer to topping or just pinching the main stem?

here are some room pics. one thing i love about the room is the electrical. its all done professionally and wired correctly. i think alot of people dont put enough effort towards wiring there rooms properly and pay for it later with problems.

heres a couple shots of the top of the room also. its hard to see but i have 1/4" black tubing running along the bottom of the 2x4's with a hole i poked about every 9" o.c. for my co2. and everything has pro grips even the ducting so it dosnt sag i love these things.

so i have noticed that every time i add bacteria to my res i get a HUGE p.h. spike. I had a sample of white widow laying around and decided to use it. its been recommended to me that i add bennies to the mix at least every two weeks to make sure that there is in fact beneficial bacteria floating around.

i adjusted the p.h. and pulled the sick plant it looked like it had some root rot and ill replace it with a green martian i got from a friend which is soo tiny and will be behind a couple weeks but something is better than nothing ^^.

Everything is looking fantastic!!! the color of these ladies is a nice dark green and the stems are getting THICK as you can see from todays pics.

started filling my barrels with r.o. so i can change it all out. gonna shoot for 400 ppm and im low on funds so im thinking of switching to dm zone and drop the bennies since i have a gallon of the stuff laying around. i feel like i had stronger root growth when i ran zone the last time around. i dont think it will be a problem for the plants the zone should just kill off anything in the system.

yes i know the temps on the gauge say 90+ but thats incorrect it seems to flip out after i foliar spray.

forget all that LST and topping stuff im just gonna keep it simple and natural and let them do there thing this go i need to get one under my belt in this system.

The electrical supply setup is sweet! Can't wait to see some photos in living color... What kind of camera do you have kritical? Also is there any reason why you are continuing to run CO2 at 1500 PPM with the nutrients around 350 PPM? One last question, are you using CalMag with your RO? :wondering

yea im adding calmag plus by botanicare to the r.o. at about 2ml per gallon it gets me to 150 ppm. the only real reason im running such hi ppm with my co2 is my ppm4 monitor has no settings it only goes to 900-1500 and shuts off and with a sealed room i got to run something in there plus its not a waste of money the bottle is 20 bucks to refill every 2-4 weeks.

its crazy! the tips of the leaves of the new growth have a little tiny bit of nute burn even at 350 ppm im scared to take it to 400 lol.

my camera is my droid X so there really isnt any settings sorry its just 8 megapixel but ill try to snap some shots tonight at lights out.

got ya man - was gonna say 700-900 is easily good for veg at your stage

when shit goes bad high co2 compounds your problems and makes them get worse faster

ya if i had the cash i would have gotten a 600-700$ ppm controller that thing still cost 300$ and it has to better then setting my timer for 5 min every 2 hours at a rate of 5.5 lol

o yeah switched the tunes up to some classical symphony stuff...i heard metal, rap and reggae have a negative effect lol. need to throw some wind chimes in there also get it all zenned out!

No worries on the Droid camera bud. Good to know you are adding a bit of CalMag... I just took my girls out of the buckets and drenched the net pots with 150 PPM of CalMag and 1 ml/gal of Roots Excelurator to speed up the roots a bit... Going into my 2nd week of veg and need to kick my girls in the ass... :itwasntme

mythbusters tackled the music and plants deal and if I remember right it was music that had plenty of bass that planst responded to best and classical or elevator music showed little response

so metal rap or raggae should be good for them

of course it wasnt pot plants they tested

filling my 32 gallon tanks now with r.o. water to change out nutes tomorrow. holy shit its taken 6 hours to fill 1 can so far and its still not topped off. im just gonna hook a house to the chillers 1000 gph pump and pump the system out then have everything all premixed with 3 hoses to fill the system back so the roots are not dry for long. thats the plan anyway.

sweet the sick one already seems to be bouncing back after the nute change out! the leaves are perking up, some of the lower leaves are yellower but the fan leaves look like there not as droopy. I also moved it into another bucket maybe it didnt like that spot who knows lol. all the plants look good after the change out and the switch to zone. the system is full of dead brown bennies floating around and bubbly lol. ill probably start changing the nutes out once a week i think it seems to keep shit fresh.

heres the sick one looks like shes got a little more spring to her today.

Very creative way to use 3 five gal buckets to raise the Brute trash can reservoir... Is it stable? If so I think I'm gonna copy your idea... :thinking

I was wondering how much airflow you have around the room... Also it's pretty tough to tell what's good or bad on the plants when the color is off in the photos... I know you've said it before about the Droid, but I'm just saying that you might get more and better advice with some clear shots... :cool
