Stopped in for a sec
I omitted any RH references in the last post cause
I suspected something hinky going on in the tent.
This morning I see these white gobs of spots on one or two
of my plants that happen to be directly in front of where the
steam is coming into the tent.
Like crusty pile of calcium, so I scrapped them off the leaves affected.
Should of took a pic, darn.
Anyway I started doubting my RH scnsors and stuck in 2 more spread out
in various locations in the tent.
After seeing this I shut down the steamer and decided to take my chances with the RH in the tent.
Here are the pic's that give dif readings depending on where I put them.
Top Near Exhaust and near fan.

All Different lol so much for that.
Once I figure out where it should be put to get a accurate read I will make the adjustment.
Tents go figure 😂
I've just hung my gauge off one of the ports draw strings at canopy level. I figure that's the most central location, I think they get influenced from the moisture in the soil. Calcium deposits lead to an algae build up, then it turns green and its hard to clean off. That's why I'm only using RO water in my humidifiers now.......

I have a large cheap $2.99 - 30% seniors discount Vicks vaporizer that fills the room full of moisture it takes about a gal & half a day & its noisy as heck unless strapped down tight but it really put out a lot of moisture & its easy to clean with vinegar.

I think I might hang one from one of the plant staulks,
The intake and exhaust fans, even tho they are at the lowest setting, they seem to mess with the RH gauge.
I believe the most accurate read is 78° with RH at 38-40% without the hummy on. Which makes sense since it is damp and snowing/raining all week.
I got 4-5 weeks to go and am crossing my fingers that is the only problem I will have.

Nothing much happening here but some minor stuff

I guess I should have been using Pro-Tekt along with the other nutrients
So will be adding that to the mix.

Believe I hit the nutes ceiling cause today I seen some burn on 2 of the cloth pot plants.
Probably getting fed tomorrow so will flush with PH'ed water, a gallon.
Then give them bout a 1000 PPM.
Only 2 tho, the rest are taking it in with no problems.
I mean it could be something else, I've been throwing the kitchen sink, nute wise, at them.
Kinda looks like a Mag deficiency too.
No tip burn (a couple of others do have slight tip burn, like the plant above the splotchy plant)
like a tipical over feed, just those splotches and not all of the leaves and none near the bottom only near the top.

Pic of one of the burnt plants.

i'll take em your sick of em

Plants look good . Could the spots be from dripping on the plant while watering ?
Otherwise I go with CA def.
No splashing on the leaves, I take them out of the tent to feed and drain. Easier for me.

I am leaning more towards a phosphorus deficiency or maybe I screwed up and forgot to PH the water.
Anyway I just flushed it with PH'ed water and fed a slightly less mix of nutes.
The reason I think this is no browning on the viens just thoses wierd splotches and only in a few areas, very isolated.

I started to feed them KoolBloom in the AP tank.
I'm at 1200 PPM with no problems so far.
Using a 2.5 gal bucket to mix the KB cause it's in powder form
and needs to be mixed well to desolve. Plus it's easier.

Most of the rest get fed tomorrow with some KB.
They are maxed out at 1100 so I will dial that down to 1000 PPM
Same with the AP's, they are at their max too.
for the next few weeks, then steadily down in PPM till the end.

Installed my 2 TS1000's in the tent, sqeezed em in there.
Off of each side, hanging vertically, lots of light to the lower branches.
But wow I can't even get into the tent to take a pic.

I took these random pic's just now.

Side lighting! I love it, Mars has some lights I'd like to try adding in all 4 corners, Just dreaming but I like the idea of harvesting what we grow from under the canopy.

Lollypopping and stripping the bottoms off just seems counter productive. I know the claim is bigger better top buds but they don't do that for apples, oranges, ect. I've had a lot of nice buds from lower branches without added light. I want to use more lower light and enhance the lower buds......

I know the youngn's would laugh, stupid old fart but I don't need big and pretty, I just need lots of what I spend money on to grow...lol

I wasn't sure my outlet could handle the extra load but it did with ease, so now just a matter of time will tell.

Sidelights are a tricky deal in a small 4x4 tent.
I was feeding the other day and after taking plants out of the tent
I seen something that sent shivers up my spine.
The plant in the far right corner, the leaves and buds facing the light were burnt!
Oh my, I didn't take a pic but it scared me that it could have caught fire.
I moved it to a safer distance and turned the light down to only 13k lux.
I probably will remove them next week if not sooner cause the plant will
grow into the light again no doubt.
Keeping a close eye on my tent the rest of the way.
I think I dodged a bullet.

Nice save !
I am on the fence for side /under lighting.
Worst case scenario [besides what you found] is you plant can not show you leaf curl or taco exactly the same since light hits it from every angle .
I know the plant loves light but wonder if it is better applied from top as a supplement to original lighting .
Always trying to learn, appreciate you sharing .

Here's some pic's of the aftermath lol
I did knock most of the dried up dead leaves off when I found it.
Ya maybe a 45° slant near the sides and not directly vertical idk
But if your going to do it take care not to get so close and watch em close.

Ya you need the space for side lights for sure We'd need same distance from the to them from the sides with the brights like that. The cheapo's I bought are pretty low watt I was just looking for the color and a small boost to side buds. I see Spiderfarmer has a small narrower sf300 33w full spectrum light.. I might consider adding .....lol.....always something to add.

It never ends, I can now buy OZ delivered for $66 -$77 -$88 with freebies added in

Fk....I wrote this yesterday.....I guess I didn't hit reply...lol

I got caught up looking at lights for side lighting and I guess I just shut down my browser. SF seem to be open to sponsoring me with equipment. I may approach them after my current grow in their tent is done & see what they can offer. I'm old, I like freebies, if I have to post a few pics for free goods well that's okay with me........I've been bought.......fk I'm easy...lol

Yes always looking to improve, to get better and better gear.
I am looking at Spider Farmer Exhaust / intake fans that monitor RH and Temp.
I can't find my other 4 inch duct fan lol I must of put it some where but where?
Looking for the last month and can't find it, dam!
I need a storage shed for just the grow stuff that I'm piling up.
I got my PH/PPM pen from Vivosun. I calibrate it once a year, so only once since I brought it.
But I was thinking of the Blue Labs pen and then I come back to reality $$$$$$
$109 for the fan I want and might get it next grow.

Week 6 in flower
Tent Temp 77-80° RH 38-41% (fluctuates constantly with every change or feeding, drives me nuts)
Feeding them only KoolBloom straight up at 6.7 PH n 1000 PPM for the last 2 feeds.
One or two more then I got to cut back and switch to FP/MP.
It seems they don't mind the KB stuff and might even being doing better.
Idk maybe just normal growth cycle.
This is the time I love, watching them bulk up with nice cola's and smelling up the tent.

Also the time everything goes sideways, it shouldn't tho, I think I figured this out by now.
^Famous last words^

So looking back at the things I would change.
1st Strip would be a yes but 2nd Strip would be a No.
I think I set them back a week or two by doing that 2nd Strip.
2 Gallon cloth bags is a no but definetly would use 3 gal. cloth bags in the cellar tent.
8 Plants in a 4x4 with limited height - No, but 4 is a more sane choice.
Clones - Nope, I would rather choose a seed/strain for the variety that I want.
Auto Pots - Yes, I love them! But would get the next size down in the 4x4 tent.
I would love to do a Auto top feed with the rock wool and slab for sure.

OK that's it and I still have plenty of smoke left from the last grow 😎

I bought to different intake and exhaust fans for my tent @ $35 Cdn each off Amzons warehouse deals page. Damaged boxes were why they're on sale but the fans work great. I bought 2 BBQ fan controllers/ dimmer switches $13 each. I saw the Vivosun & SpiderFarmer fans with controllers for $100+ I'm cheap & a little hot glue sticks the controller on or close to the fan, it looks just as nice as those that come with the controllers attached. I've been adjusting the speeds to control the RH & temp. Its not as nice as auto controlled but CHEAP lol......2 fans - 2 controllers under $100....

I just clicked amzon to see prices in the USA

Just went to that site and it's pretty cool, didn't know about it, thanks.

My exhaust fan is sitting on a shelf outside the tent and very close to the floorboards of the upstairs
dinning room and the noise it makes is annoying, that and the fact I cannot take it apart to clean is a problem.

My cellar is 62° n RH is 48 but for some reason I get these flucuations and run up and down a dozen times to correct.
Once it's on target it stays put but then I have to feed or the temps outside go nuts or it rains alot and
I have to reset everything and start again.
Running up and down the cellar stairs is a pain so by automating it would help with that, lol.

I bought one of the Inkbird humidity controllers in January....I haven't used it yet. I'm not sure why I bought it. As long as my veg room is up over 60% I'm good, I came down one morning and it was at 93%....wow...The plants loved it. I left the door open and brought it down and turned up the exhaust speed but it doesn't do them any harm I don't think, as long as you're on it. I would want to leave them there for a week or 2 but with good air movement I don't think it a problem over night

I'm surprised you have trouble getting the Rh up in your tents. Warm temps and wet pots gives me too much humidity. I've a small dehue in the tent, it helps but its a cheap little thing, cup a day at the most. Its at 79f & 58% .....here at my desk its 68f @ 53%.......I'd like the Rh lower but wtf do I do? If I open the door I drop % but there goes the temp I've been working at hard to get up.

Not sure I made any sense here, smoke 2 its taken me 1/2 hr...lol

Ya it's an enigma, does not make sense maybe poltergist cause this house is 115 yrs old and we do hear some strange things.
Yesterday I heard, while relaxing with my wife's dog coco in the easy chair, a noise like a potatoe chip bag dragging across the
floor, from one end of the room to the other. I had my eyes closed at the time and opened them, looked around and seen nothing.

I even put water in the pans to raise the RH to no avail. Steamer on Turbo, still sits at 39%,so I turned off the exhaust and had the 4" intake on high.
Nothing works. Right now the best I can do is 37-41% by having the 6" exhaust on it's lowest setting and the 4" intake off. I wanted to change up
the exhaust fan to a 4" but can't find it. Hence the search to buy a new exhaust fan lol. I would still need the 4" intake if I put a 4" exhaust in there, to
move the air better. Took out my 2 clip on fans, stuck in one 8" occilating fan.

Maybe something to do with the 3 drivers in there drying up the excess moisture? Then there is the oil heater too.
I'm a gonna roll one now ....cause I need one, my brain needs a rest.

I think I'll go into shock if nothing goes wrong for more than a week....Screw ups keep me playing the game...no regular screw ups I get complacent then everything goes to shit..I gotta stay on top of it and write it down fk I'll check a file and see I haven't updated in 10 days and nothing goes 10 days without some kind of liguid so I guess what I did hence triple watering or triple feedings...lol.........Plants usually look like shit afterwards....Not now though I've never had everything in veg so healthy......ready to flip.....and nowhere to go...lol
