Step 1 of geothermal. Will have 16 barrels when it's done. Will give em a coat of black paint, and fill with water.
So, the barrels are to keep the plants warm in the fall? I wish I knew the math to figure out how long the heat will last once it cools off....or am I on the wrong track altogether?

There was a guy in Michigan last year who built an elaborate greenhouse with huge fans, dug holes with a Hydro set up, I think. Everything was looking sweet. Come September the plants were huge and pressing up against the walls and ceiling of this huge greenhouse. So he raised it up 3 or 4 feet to accommodate the plants! After that he fell off the face of the Earth. Got to assume things didn’t end well. But give him an A+ for ingenuity and effort! Michiganders don’t throw in the towel easily!

Yeah, it was really an innovative idea! I tried drumming up a response later on, but no luck!

I know we better quit clogging this thread with no pictures. But two years ago it was me that crashed and burned. And I documented it and manned up! That’s the difference between people that are growing for ego and people that are growing for game! It’s all about the plants! And the education! Call it a lifestyle!

He is a hardhead, who is going to figure out a way to finish outdoors where it is damn near impossible! I like it!👍
Never give up! Where there’s a will there’s a way! Just gotta figure it out and get good at it!

I would imagine a frame with clear plastic over it would help with heat retention late in the season especially with the warmed barrels in there

I remember that topic! Wish I knew what the topic title was

Auto blueberry, in a 5 gallon pot. 4 weeks into flower. Its hot as heck here in so cal. Going to be 105 this weekend. I was told to shade the plant because it looks like heat damage. My soil is drying within 1 day of watering. I was watering every other day, but am concerned it may not be enough. Put an umbrella over her and watered again today with just ph’d water. It’s my first time growing outdoors. i Think that I have two weeks before harvest. is this umbrella going to hurt if I put it up during the intense heat of the day? Any comments are welcome.

I’ve destroyed a few plants in my day as well learning curves new neuts new lights new mediums. Always takes some time to hone in on that perfect spot, nobody’s perfect, a perfect first run ever is sometimes a bad thing (as nice as it is) because you expect every run to go like that, gotta learn the negatives so you can combat them in the future! I take notes in EVEYTHING down to light percentage and height if changed etc so I know where to zone in to start on the next run

Yeah, the pot is too small to take care of the roots! So water less but more frequently, while it is hotter than hell! And make sure you soak the edge of that pot! The top half of the plant can handle more heat then SoCal can give it! It’s up to you to take care of the bottom half! That’s where the rubber meets the road!

Agreed! And learning the hard way, sometimes shows in the gross that you present now! You’re good at it! Besides, if everything goes smoothly, it’s no fun! Got to keep those synapses popping!😁

Oh believe me my KKSC is SMOKED lol, but I won’t give up on her she’s right there, basically no fans left everything burnt up but buds are SLOWLY ripening so I’ll ride it out till Frostette is ready for the chop

Heat stress light stress, cal / mag def, nothing I could do for her, Frostette has been 18” away from the light since flip, the kksc was same top height but I lowered her to the ground but she never recovered, but she’s still there… barely

Everything counts, success and failures both contribute to knowledge😁

Edit: this pic of the KKSC was from about a week and half ago, she’s lost more fans etc but still hangin in

My phot Deisel is in a 2x2 tent. I’m pretty happy with this grow. 3 weeks into flower this Thursday. Will post pictures. The trichomes are hypnotizing.

I actually love this, no cherry picked photo here, all the lumps bumps and bruises, not every grow is going to be a zinger. Sometimes the variables aren’t on your side. It’ll still yield bro!
