I went back down to take a pic and they disappeared. They were real fine thread like worms all white.. Actually thought it was roots at first but themn they moved.Sounds like it. Any pix?
They went from papertowel to rapid rooters in to Roots 707 mixed with some coco and perlite. Didnt have any problems with the other seeds i started them with just the StarBud seeds. Fucking weird.sure does. what do you have the seeds in - soil? fungus gnat come with shitty soils sometimes. hence why germinating on paper towels is good. removes the possibility of pests and other problems.

Hungry little SatrBud eating bastards!
Tough one for sure since there such little babies
Fix the problem yet or find out the culprit?
That just might be. Ill post up if anything else happens but all is good so far. They might have come with the coco. Happens sometimes.
I remember now I was trying to think of who else it was this happened to. Yeah it was a bummer. I got more beans on the way.:DThat fuckin sux! I had the same shit happen to me a few times, Bud. Last round I lost a few AstroDawg and White Fire beans. Bummed u must be! Keep ur head up, bro.
I was wondering about that.its the roots!! ive had horrible experiences with roots organics... used twice got gnats once and then 2 years later, tried again and got gnats again. one was indoor one was outdoor, since then i stay away from that soil.
I've had problems with the knats since I started with coco never totally getting rid of them i think. I been recycling it quite a few times also. They couldve laid eggs in it. Maybe the roots too who knows.over fertilised media will attract fungus gnats too. so could be a combo of the coco and the roots. ya should give bti a go bro.

What is BTI ?Id like to start pre treating everything but need to see what;s safe especially for seeds.
Thanks bro! Im gonna check it out.bti = bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis. it's a bacterium that kills fungus gnat larvae. it does this by being ingested by the maggots. once inside the digestive tract of the maggots, bti secretes a toxin which stops the larvae from feeding anymore and then leads to their deaths. doing a soak of ya media in a solution with bti will sort out ya problems. usually takes a few treatments to break the cycle, as any unhatched eggs remain unaffected.
media which are too wet or too heavily fertilised are especially attractive to fungus gnats. peat containing media also seem to attract them and coco is pretty bad for it too.
good luck bro!
