Hello everyone,

First timer here. I bought some female seeds last time I was in Colorado, Tropicana Cream Cookies. I just ordered a grow tent to fit my space(closet) lol. I will post some pics to show where I currently which 4 weeks in. I am using Fox Farm Ocean Fresh in. 4 gallon pot with fox farm nutrients on the schedule they provided. Vipar spectra 300w led grow light. Currently only using big bloom as per the schedule, but I can see the edges of my leaves turning up. Please any and all advice is welcome.

Also, should I cut my top node?

Whats up @Closetfarmer81 welcome to the farm! Looks like a bit of leaf curl from either it being too dry in there OR too much light OR too hot or ALL of the above. However looks like your on the right path, plant looks pretty healthy to me and your keeping things simple: PERFECT.

Just keep the temps between 74-84ish in veg, and 70-75 in flower. Keep Relative humidity around 55-65% in veg, and 45-55% in flower. Get x2 4 inch clip fans and get air movement above and below the plant/canopy.

If you don't already have one, get yourself a laser temp gun and measure leaf tempurature. Use that leaf surface tempurature reading to determine your VPD and follow these charts: https://pulsegrow.com/blogs/learn/vpd-charts-in-fahrenheit-and-celsius-with-leaf-temperature

Other than that just maybe get yourself a bloom booster and give it to her when you flip to flower. Good luck and MOST important of all: stay high.

You can cut off that top node, it will let you get a hella bushy plant with lots of side growth. I used to top but I just super crop. Way easier and I honestly dont think it really makes a huge difference. Fk it do what you want, when a plant is health she will tolerate more experimentation. Just gotta make sure to dial the lights back after you do stuff like defoliation and lollipopping cuz it stresses em out.

You gonna scrog it out? I suggest you do, better yield, quality at the cost of some extra work. Check out Cannagranny's thread on scrogging, she kills it in a 4x4 tent. Peace!

Also to dial in your lights just download the Photone app to get your DLI and follow this chart for your PERFECT light settings. :D

This this the SCROG thread. You gave the “hangout” thread. Still welcome either way. 🤣

Ok, so… Ive since updated my set up. Raised the light in an effort to reduce the heat on the plant and am maintaining around 75 degrees now in my tent. What do y’all think?View attachment 1342905
Don’t point the fan directly at the plants. Point at floor or wall or you’ll get downward leaf curl from wind burn.

You just need to move the air around.

Right on my bad lmao, he was probably like "what the hell is zombie on about lol"

Like Zen said try not to point the fan directly at her, but aside from that its looking good in there! Just keep this thread updated and let us know if you have any questions. Happy growing!

Ok ok ok you guys are going wayyyy over my head. VPD/DLI/lollipopping….I feel like I’m drunk haha. If you don’t mind just tell me specifically what to do lol.

I just topped her.

I’d save VPD/DLI for last. IMO

Follow the links and read up a bit. They are slightly more advanced growing methods.

You know, give a man a fish...

Okay let her rest a few days. Read up on LST & watering. Search here ask questions based on what you read.

Little worried about you closet. Fresh air, circulation, humidity, temperature & light. Do you have all covered?

I’d at a minimum put reflective material in the corner, aluminum foil maybe in a pinch, and keep the light and plant just a few inches away from the corner. To start.

Did you see the new set up in the grow tent? I am myself worried about these things, but I was hoping the grow tent with reflective surfaces, carbon filter with blower and small fan would help with these things….

Unfortunately i cant tell you exactly what to do or id have to hold your hand through the entire grow. I learned all this stuff my first grow, just a couple days of research and experiementation. But if its too much for ya then dont expect the best results until you master these fundamentals.

Agreed, it’s just as easy to hinder a plant opposed to helping it when it comes to VPD

Don’t think Zen saw your tent post.

I saw you topped, just like zen said dial the light back a shade or ease it up a few inches for 2-3 days to let her recover a bit before you start increasing the light.

LST is low stress training, tons of good links around if you search LST on the farm here.

Oh, no I didn’t. Either too much running around here at the farm or off fixing my girls. Sorry. 😝

Just doing my rounds. Link it in a reply or I’ll recap in a bit.

Regardless read up on what we’ve noted and suggested. I promise you won’t regret it.

LST is a gateway drug, the way it shows you options and opportunities. From there HST & SCROG.

These are terms you will read about in most experienced grow journals.

Look forward to seeing your next post.

Ok, since making some adjustments, I’ve seen some improvement in the leaf curl. I’m in the back end of week 2 of veg using only FF big bloom nuts and I’m seeing some discoloration in one leaf. Thoughts?

Purple light is making it hard to see any detail.

That one leaf looks like it was brushed against something? Is it just starting on the leaf beside it? Is it dry brown spots?

Yes, dry brown spots and it looks like the leaf beside it is starting to how a little as well.
