The worst may not be over. Butte Fire. Escorted out by CHP as flames topped the ridge. Staying w/ friend for now. Got my dogs and 7 cats. Pray for us. LPR, Loran
Brother, I know you may not see this til after it's all over but you know you've got a place here. I know you'd be cool with my asshole yowling cat even, too. Dave and I are really concerned about you folks *and* your friends in Mountain Ranch. If you don't have any of our numbers handy and need to call just call Volcano Telephone and ask them to transfer you to Dave's office.

I don't want to give specifics, but GoldCountryGuy and his crew are right in the middle of things. If you guys read this, wishing you luck.

My wife is on FB, and I just told her about the sites you mentioned, thanks for the heads up.

This fire is serious, and it's just getting started. Maybe rain mid week, that could help.

Dave just sent word that evacuations are beginning in San Andreas. If this wind pattern continues, it's heading toward Yosemite.

Yes, GCG is RIGHT in the middle of it, I'm going to guess they're already evacuated by now.

Just throwing it out there, I got a truck with racks and my wife can most likely come with her small SUV. I will try to check this thread through out the week.

My parents have a cabin in Arnold, and Murphy's looks in trouble. If it makes it to Yosemite, then I might be next.

Loran said he's now in Nevada after being evacuated 3 times in 2 days. House is still good but he lost all his plants.
Thanks for the update. Glad his house held up. It's a shame mother natures wrath destroyed your work this year. If this happened to our agricultural brethren I think the government would help pay for the loss. This is another valid reason this plant should not be illegal. No farmers should have to work so hard n have a natural disaster wipe them out without subsidy.

The government should pay....lol. Sad sad comments here.

You can insure your crops with different insurance policies. My brother sells the insurance through his firm.

Glad Loran is safe, I am sure he is covered, but any help needed get back on your feet just let me know.

No insurance carrier will cover cannabis. At least none that I've spoken to.

I will try to find the info, and shoot it your way @Seamaiden. I was skeptical as well, it covers everything put a police bust.

Notice that's a .gov site. Sorry you feel it's sad that the government helps. Or maybe you think it's sad I think they should help canna farmers. But it happens every year with floods and other disasters

Don't be sorry. It's the thing to do now days. What does what you posted have to do with anything?

This would have more relevance......
http://www.fsa.usda.gov/programs-and-services/disaster-assistance-program/index

"The Agricultural Act of 2014 indefinitely extended the following four disaster programs that were previously authorized by the 2008 Farm Bill. The programs are made retroactive to Oct. 1, 2011. To be eligible for disaster assistance programs under the 2014 Farm Bill, producers are no longer required to purchase crop insurance or NAP coverage, which was the risk management purchase mandate under the 2008 Farm Bill."

I would argue the attitude of the cannabis entrepreneur would stand away from government and stand with the community. I am willing to bet the community helps more than the federal government will in a situation like the fires we are experiencing. I would think it's counter intuitive for a pot farmer to ask the government for assistance on their crop. Cannabis farmers take care of their own, not the government. Just my two cents, nobody has to agree with me.
